Thanks a lot for this little tutorial! I needed to label something with a bit more permanence recently and found a tape writer that my late dad bought in 1985. I had no idea how to feed the tape through or use it properly but this really helped - it wasn't even a Mo Tex.
Great Video!! :) Are the motex tapes compatible with the dymo emboss labeller? (I don't want to buy a new motex labeller, but want the funky colours that motex supplies). Thanks, Gracie
OMG so sad. If one day you find one, tell me pls thru this message or, maybe it can be your new video content. I think it will be so helpfull for anyone like me hehe. Anyway thanks for the info, and stay positive 😉
Hi Amy, yes and no :) Pressing lightly will move the tape through. On the Motex there isn't a specific space bar (sadly! There is on a Dymo). Hope that helps :)
Loved your videos, I have a kids dymo, but today I needed a symbol it didn't have (guess I shouldn't have been cheap when I bought it :P) so I came to see what other options there is. I like that Motex has lots of different fonts and symbols and since the tape is the same I might buy a Motex this time. I noticed you have a couple of machines, does any of them does accents? Like à or á, I've been looking but the nearest thing seems to be the apostrophe.
Hi. Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes you can get dymo's with accents on the alpha wheels or you could just use the apostrophe and back up to the letter you want accented.
Hi gracieloo12 YES!! they sure are compatible and fit in either machine (and vice versa is also true ie dymo tapes fit in the motex). Hope that helps :)
Hi Meanne Yap. All the tapes are the same so it wouldn't really matter which one you used. Sometimes the tape just doesn't like to stick so I place a strip of double sided tape, or some glue, on the back. Contrary to what others may tell you the tape does not like water and will come off if it is washed. If you are looking for labelling an object that will be washed in the future I recommend labelling with a permanent marker rather than label tape. Hope that answers your question and you find the information helpful.
thank you so much. I had this from 2 years and did not try using it. Your video was very helpful.
I’m so happy I found this tutorial! Thank youuuu!

Is there a model that supports a 6mm tape?

would this be good for putting around a rose? promoting a new business
Can you use the tapes for a dymo xpress which is 3/8 x 9/8 ?
Thank-you for your response Sharmaine! Yes this does help! :)
Hello, thanks for sharing. I was wondering, is the label waterproof? In case I wanna stick it to tupperware hehe
Hi Amira. Sadly no it isn't. I'm yet to find a tape that truly is waterproof enough to stay stuck to plastic containers.
