@@MasterJSuite And I forgot, you had to wait until the correction fluid was dry because if otherwise it would smudge and you had the white fluid on the ink ribbon.
@@lollipopcorndog I would recommend bringing it to school or work if it isn't too distracting. A typewriter as a daily carry could be fun if you do a ton of typing and don't want to destroy your eyes by staring at a screen.
Thats a modern writers dream. I almost never comment on videos but this is exceptional. I live in a modern city but i write stories and books thatare set in olden times, and yet imstill use a computer. I wish i had one of these
Some did though, it's about how often they were exposed and when they were exposed to it. Back when I went to church, there was an elderly lady who spoke fondly of it. Much like how some people love the sound of clacking keyboards today, there were people who loved the sound of typewriters back then.
I have 3 Olympia's right now. Two sm2's and and sm9 build the same year as my Rocket. I've got quite a few hours into returning them back to working order but I've enjoyed typing on Olymia's immensely.
That is so cool !!! I remember taking typing 💬 class in jr high. I remember the teacher saying ADSF JKL:. I would say it in my dreams lol 😂 I just love ❤️ those old fashioned type writers they are so vintage and I like that idea of something you can’t find every day. Its a very rare thing to find
The sounds are pretty quite compared to other typewriter I have seen. My mom's typewriter especially 😂. The old thing are still sitting in our storage room.
Reminds me of my youth. I have to say, they look cool, but if you don't type PERFECTLY, corrections are a major pain in the behind. Writing assignments were a headache for that reason. Believe me, computers and easily correctible electronic files are so much better.
I found a Remington easy-riter in my store and apparently my great grandfather used to use it. Got it cleaned yesterday and I absolutely love using it.
I have a 1965 hermes 3000 and a 1969 hermes rocket that I just repaired. I still type rough drafts or outlines on the 3000 so I have no distractions, but I use my iPad to bring it all together.
Imagine making a mistake in an essay 💀
You had to use correction fluid or type it again.
@@thakiusmuckfeather1103 Thx for making younger generations learn more.

@@thakiusmuckfeather1103 Yeah I researched about it after you mentioned it.
My grandparents had this exact same one. Same color and everything. I used to play around and type on it as a kid.
The keycaps are same too? They looks like modern mechanical keyboard keycaps
Old is still Gold.
Whoever works on it....must be feeling elated. 😊😊😊
*it types like butter*
The sound of typewriter is nostalgic...😅
Just like the song. ❤️
I’m thinking they might have a huge come back like the record player.

And remember that "silent" and "noiseless" typewriters exist as well.
this looks like the typewriter bestdressed ashley has. anyways, absolutely love the color ♡

Haha, nobody in the 60s thought that a typewriter is relaxing.

Beautiful machine
I bought one of these a couple years ago. Love the look, but prefer the feel of my Smith Corona Classic 12.
Glorious. Thank you. ❤
Me recordó mis años de estudiante! ❤
Love the color ❤
Wow, that was nothing but pure excitement!!!❤😮
You left your typewriter at my apartment, straight from the tortured poets department...

The Hermes typewriter had an amazing touch. I got an Olympia instead. (Still have it, too!)

may I ask what did you write with it? I want to have one but I'm not sure what to use it for
Beautiful! 😍
This is a vintage typewriter. A classic that will work without any electric power! Excellent results.
There is no backspace..how do you erase stuff in case of a mistake? Do you have to start all over again? 😮

I’ve got this typewriter. Not nearly in as good condition as this one though. Mine belonged to my great great grandmother.

That things looks sooo small compared to most typewriters.
It's probably a "travel version" since it says, "portable". ETA: I think the cover turns it into something like a suitcase lookalike.
I bought a typewriter because I'm an eccentric 30 year old.
