Still a special place in my heart. I saw Stray Cats in 1982 (first real concert w/o parents - age 12) Loved original song & this version is great! Love his whole thing he has going on!!!
Brian Setzer is one of those rare performers that can cover a song note for note exactly the way it was recorded or else do the same song putting his touch on it and it's just as good sometimes even better. Brian Setzer and his orchestra could play the phone book and it would sound great. A true Talent. Now if I could just talk him into using a Telecaster LOL Doo-wop Dwight Bridgeport Connecticut
written by J. Rock, W. Lester, J. Beaumont, J. Verscharen, and J. Vogel I don't have plans and schemes And I don't have hopes and dreams Baby, I just don't have anything Since I don't have you I don't have fond desires And I don't have happy hours Baby, I just don't have anything, anything Since I don't have you, I don't have you I don't have happiness And I guess I never will ever again When you walked out on me In walked old misery And he's been here since then I don't have love to share And I don't have one who cares Baby, I just don't have anything Since I don't have you, I don't have you I don't have happiness And I guess I never will ever again When you walked out on me In walked old misery And he's been here since then I don't have love to share And I don't have one who cares Baby, I just don't have anything Since I don't have you
So, does this drummer’s daddy own a majority share of the stock ? … or have a really strong union … maybe Brian lost a bet … Most band leaders wouldn’t put up with that … well… unless it’s “The Buddy Rich Orchestra- Starring Buddy Rich!” You know … or Ed Shaughnessy, or Danny Seraphim, or Ringo, etc. …He sure likes triplets, I’ll give him that…
One of his strongest vocal performances I’ve heard

Totally agree...except that it’s Gretsch all day long for me!
Good luck gettin' the Gretsch outta those hands!

I don't have plans and schemes
And I don't have hopes and dreams
Baby, I just don't have anything
Since I don't have you
I don't have fond desires
And I don't have happy hours
Baby, I just don't have anything, anything
Since I don't have you, I don't have you
I don't have happiness
And I guess I never will ever again
When you walked out on me
In walked old misery
And he's been here since then
I don't have love to share
And I don't have one who cares
Baby, I just don't have anything
Since I don't have you, I don't have you
I don't have happiness
And I guess I never will ever again
When you walked out on me
In walked old misery
And he's been here since then
I don't have love to share
And I don't have one who cares
Baby, I just don't have anything
Since I don't have you
It needed the classic ending - that is what the song is known for
he covers the lows better than most singers.
