    I like your video showing this tool because I actually want to buy it and how you use it correctly. Other videos the nut doesn't work after using the tool. A must buy

    If some of you are like me, who build a variety of projects that requires different custom-sized lengths of fasteners, this is the tool for you. I purchased this Uniurr Chamfer tool when ACF first offered them for sale. This tool is exactly what I needed to retain a professional finish after cutting/grinding down fasteners to smaller custom lengths.
    Excellent tool, well worth it's cost!

    The original Uniburr works as advertised if it is not abused by running it fast. I have had one for a couple of years. The ChiCom clone made of stainless does not.

      Exactly! While we can't speak for the ChiCom version, running the Uniburr slow is the only way to make it work as intended. Thank you for your feedback!

    Hey Bob, I would like to see you cut-off 1/8" threaded rod with a nippers.
    Then show us how well "Uniburr" doesn't hook-on to a "real life burr," without destroying/twisting rod around slowly.

    Donnyboy73 cut off a bunch of bolts and threaded rods, and tried this tool. Doesn't work worth crap.

      From what we can tell of his video, he appears to be using a similar tool that isn't actually the Uniburr. While we can't speak for that version of the deburring tool, we can say the Uniburr does work. The trick is that it requires the tool running at a very slow speed, despite what some of their marketing videos suggest. We've found that the slower you run it, the better it works.

      His was a different brand and I also noticed that he kept hitting it straight instead of having the tool at a slight angle.
      I've had good luck with these things, even the "budget" priced ones that I have work fairly well. The biggest thing seems to be the speed and the angle (and obviously the direction).

    • @AlbanyCountyFasteners

      The Uniburr Plus is made out of Tool Steel with a 92 Rockwell Coating.

    Last person that I saw do this said it didn’t work but he also did it at high speed

    • @AlbanyCountyFasteners
      @AlbanyCountyFasteners  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a recurring problem; a lot of people want to use it at high speeds. Going slow is the way to go with these chamfering tools. Very slow in fact. Going too fast will prevent the tools from cutting and may even damage the tool.

      He did not use this brand. I saw that one too. The tool was hery poor quality and it looked like shit. I am from europe and i bought a quality one about 2 years ago, it was around 50 USD but god damn it cuts. It doesn't look like the uniburr as it's a bit shinyer or at least now it is. But cuts like new. All the best

    I saw on youtube a video on another tool exactly like this one, but it wasn't a unibur! it cost $15 and didn't work at all! but then again they did everything you weren't supposed to do with it!

      yeah! I watched the same video. It is a clear example of getting what you pay for.

    • @AlbanyCountyFasteners
      @AlbanyCountyFasteners  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed! We know it may seem counter-intuitive, but going slow is the way to go with these chamfering tools. Very slow in fact (as you saw in the video). Going too fast will prevent the tools from cutting and may even damage the tool.

    Cut about 1/4" of the thread and do it again. Bet it doesn't work.

    • @AlbanyCountyFasteners
      @AlbanyCountyFasteners  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This tool works just fine cut as many times as you want. Tool life is based on the user and material.

    • @David-ll8bt
      @David-ll8bt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AlbanyCountyFasteners Did you cut 1/4" off the thread and try it?

    • @lawnfascist4890
      @lawnfascist4890 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I cut all-thread and use this tool to "dress" the ends when I'm done. works just fine.

  • @thongone
    @thongone 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why would you need to chamfer the threads of a undamaged bolt. I am pretty certain the reason to have this tool is to dress theend of a bolt or threaded rod that has had its length shortened and buggered with a hacksaw or cutoff blade. Like Deacon suggested, show us how it will deburr the thread.

    • @AlbanyCountyFasteners
      @AlbanyCountyFasteners  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can find a more realistic example of its deburring abilities in our video on cutting and chamfering threaded rod. I'll include a snippet here for you: th-cam.com/video/ZWkWUyKtffE/w-d-xo.html
