The longest lasting glow fuel pumps i ever seen are the six shooter and the hobbico manual fuel pump (grey in color) have those for over 27 years and just keep working, recently replaced the tubbing as you did, an the hobbico just clean re-greasing the gears every 5 to 7 years. Always used a strainer in the pickup line.
Thanks for popping in Alma and for the comment! If you ever wanted to, a good beginner build option that you could look into is a company called Flitetest. They use dollar tree foam board as the building material and use things like skewers, popsicle sticks, and hot glue. And they make actual flying model airplanes out of this stuff! This fuel pump is an old school thing that you use to pump model airplane fuel from the fuel jug into the models fuel tank (planes that are usually built out of balsa wood and use small internal combustion engines). I had a pump like this when I was a young teen... So this pump is about 30-40 years old!
Quick n easy walk thru to freshen up a piece of history.

Ok- so I’m learning how to do this - maybe someday I’ll do a build 😊. Thank you for sharing how to do this- it’s always great to learn stuff.
