One of my bucket list items is to buy a car from you. The attention to detail is excellent and whoever bought your z must be a very happy bunny indeed!
Your mechanic skills are really coming on...been watching since the old 986 vids which i used to watch as a guide to to my own maintenance on my 2003 986...sold it 3 years ago after 6 years of ownership...anyway great content great vids 👍
Really enjoying the boxster refurb as I have looked at getting on numerous occasions before. Once the works are done and the TH-cam hours done will it be available……
I’m knee deep in very similar jobs as you. Was waiting ages for brake pipes from D911 so thought…I’ll just quickly do my discs and pads. 6 Helicoiled screws… down to final caliper - to discover a previous owner has held one of the caliper bolts in with epoxy. Replacement hub carrier on the way 🤦🏻♂️
Hi Neil, another great vid, thanks. Why did you go for the longer braided lines when you have the kit to make your own? Does it look possible to remove the line that goes over the gearbox and replace with the braided hose without removing the gearbox. Cheers J
Thanks mate for saying so. Making hard lines for the rear mid sections would require dropping the gearbox and possibly shifting the engine about so these flexible ones are ideal and you don’t need to do any of that.
Hi nice watching your videos I’m at the same point as you renevating a boxster your doing a Exelent job , can you tel me where you got your stainless barke lines especially the long ones that replaced the hard lines cheers tony
You should definitely do a GT3 master cylinder, it transforms the pedal feel on the 987 and takes away the long travel that was quite disconcerting on mine when I originally bought it. Mine has goodridge hoses on and OE Brembo pads and discs and it's the best brakes I've ever felt on a car, so it should be even more awesome with the Bluestuff pads.
@@RoadandRacetv mostly just preventative maintenance and servicing on mine to be honest. Like keeping it OEM+. I have some 'Cayman R' style stripes on the sides which break up the slab of black on the doors (mine is Basalt Black). Mine does have a Pioneer SPH-DA250DAB head unit, which gives carplay and android auto (not cheap as mine has BOSE so needs a MOST adapter). I need to get the starter motor re-lubricated this year as its starting to squeal when warm, and also look at doing the AOS preventatively as well as a 6 month oil service due in September.
@@RoadandRacetv oh I almost forgot the valved exhaust. Definitely one to try before you buy as I have a Spyder Performance one and it's great with the valves closed but a tad too loud with them open. Other options available but given you are going to track yours, the stock system is probably best for now.
@@RoadandRacetv The head unit is great, they do a cheaper one that only has carplay but no android auto, the SPH-160DAB, and the SPH-DA360 is the slightly better one with wireless Carplay and AA, but frankly I need to plug in to charge anyway so that wasn't a need for me. The SPH-DA250DAB was a good compromise for not a massive budget, and a bit easier if you don't have BOSE or a separate amplifier as you don't need the MOST adapter. Also make sure you don't buy the Connects2 fascia, it doesn't match the colour very well and is not the best fit. The InCarTech one is much better with the screw in 'wings' on the side. A bit of research will find it easily
Cravlog...Got mine to order. Thanks again for sharing buddy.
Just come across your channel and had a vision of my perfect garage and it's just like yours !
I enjoy the vids and you present it well.

Much appreciated! I'll let you know if the 987 ever goes up for sale!
I went with OEM Brembo discs and BlueStuff pads on my cayman and setup was amazing. No fade at all.
Really enjoying the series. Once the works are done and the TH-cam hours complete will the car be available..

Thanks for another great video
Thanks for watching!
A big 👍 for this channel and video.
Thank you so much 😀
I did the same on my 986, but opted for the green stuff. However got my mechanic to do it all as i dont have your confidence or skills
I've got the green stuff pads on my MGTF perfect for they way I drive. Really enjoying your channel 👍👍👍
Good choice! Thanks Kevin, glad you’re enjoying it.
Had the MGTF long?

Man thats insane ...caliper bolt held in with epoxy...incredible....why??did he cross the threads or something??

Thansk Tim, i'll certainly check it out. Any other mods on your 987?

Nice. I'm tempted to get some stripes. Also I do need a new head unit, Pioneer do a few, is yours the best?
