@leprechaun192 That was a live audience, they film as many of their sketches as possible in front of one to get a genuine laughter track, I was lucky enough to get tickets to be in the audience for series 3.
The best Matt Lucas and David Walliams could come up with was a pretend-cripple pissing in an occupied swimming pool. These guys did a meta-sketch featuring a chiropractor.
@dfarmbrough That is not the question in discussion. Many things are of a disputed value, doesnt mean you dont know about them :P Anyway, im off to get more cocktails pre-made lol, have fun man
I thought it was going to be mocking chiropractics as a science, like the homeopathy sketch. Except that focusing on how it's potentially actively dangerous nonsense rather than mostly innocuous nonsense.
@tehmadcap Yeah as if seeing Robert Webb in high heels and pantyhose isn't funny enough. They wanted to do a stupid sketch, they just happened to choose a chiropractic office. Stop whining.
I like how they reused Roy's "Do these glasses make me look like a bastard" glasses from The IT Crowd. I guess Channel 4 just have a props cupboard for shit like this.
Is that like a certain stationery cupboard, where certain captains are known to go about flying without a license, after discussing topics like "personal cheese"?
This is exactly why Ford Prefect in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy finds a bunch of useless Doctor Who paraphernalia while searching for something useful.
@AngelBiLove Chiropractors are essentially masseuses, and Jesus of Nazareth definitely existed (whether or not he was the Son of God is a matter of opinion).
excellent sketch. a lot like fry and laurie actually. terrific punchline. will you people please stop discussing religion here? Try a sketch that does involve or comment on the stupidity of religion somehow. Disrespect religion all you want, but respect (good) comedy!
yes because jesus wrote a large amount of well known scientific(for the time) books did he? and Plato's work has obviously been chopped, changed, added to and taken away from, roughly translated and revised just as much as the bible hasn't it?
not science, philosophy. Its just a little silly to say someone never existed when there is so much evidence. And has been spoken of in many different religions. There is no way to prove he was the son of God or not, but he still was a living person. Why dont you think he existed?
Because from the evidence within the bible the jesus described to us is actually a conglomeration of myths from several older cultures (greek, roman zoarastrian, hindi, jewish, steppes paganism, germanic paganism ect) pieced together with some descriptions of the many 'prophets' which were preaching around the time attributed to his existance. If there was a jesus then he is more like a symbolic avatar of religion at this time than anything else. and where is the evidence exactly? the bible? ha.
Fuck me... the amount of people gushing over Olivia Coleman winning an Oscar or Baftas. She was average in this and she's average now. Ever seen her do any truly out of character roles? Nope... average.
After watching Mitchell and Webb poke fun at Homeopathy, I do wonder whether David actually goes to a Chiropracter. It's the same realm of pseudoscience.
there isn't any evidence or "records the romans left behind" . apart from the 4 gospels (written 200 after his death) there is no evidence that jesus ever existed. anyway please dont reply 'cause i dont want this to become an endless flame war on a mitchell and webb sketch. i respect you if you believe in jesus but don't say there's any evidence of his existence other than the bible, cause im sure people are getting bored of reading what is turning into an essay.
I love Mitchell and Webb but you guys are giving this sketch more credit than it deserves. It's actually quite predictable, in fact you can tell where it's going after only 15 seconds and not need to see the rest.
This is incredible!! They smashed down the 4th wall better than any other show
Gotta watch 'a bit of fry and laurie'
They did a similar thing about stealing a joke, i think it was about a smell at a restaurant
Space balls did it the best
@@Missespelt It's also done really well by the guys who made Airplane! and The Naked Gun movies.
And the 5th
I love the sound of "Genuinely amusing Chiropracting stories"
M&W´s meta sketches are the best ones by far. this is just pure genius comedy
2:11 Oscar-winner Olivia Coleman
Colman. Woman of coal.
@@ModMokkaMatti may her carbon footprint not trample on the bark-man's delicate wood.

Really? Did you get to go? How was it? I'm genuinely interested
I thought this was very clever and, as comedy sketches go, not particularly predictable. I love how M&W blur the fourth wall with such skill :)
I like how they've increased the size of his goatee and glasses, in the sketch chiropractor character.
I like how Webb stays in character and keeps his lisp when apologising to the 'real' chiropractor
This must be partly inspired by Fry & Laurie's 'that's my sketch' sketch when an old man in the audience complains to them
It would have just been perfect if the chiropractor was played by Hugh Laurie.
I love how now Olivia Colman is a serious actress with two BAFTAs, and she's here playing a completely bonkers part!
Lauren Andrews Oscar now!
BRILLIANT!! A CHARACTER!
"First off, I don't sound anything like that"
"Thowy"
Wow this is genius, how am I just discovering Mitchell and Webb now
Me too 😩
The best Matt Lucas and David Walliams could come up with was a pretend-cripple pissing in an occupied swimming pool. These guys did a meta-sketch featuring a chiropractor.
🤦🏼♂️
both are funny so what's your point?
@HarrisJamesBen Aaahhh, that answers my age-old question of "How the hell do they get such realistically sounding canned laughter in this show?!" :P
their meta-sketches are my favorite :)
Best sketch !
Yes. That was a good sketch too!
love this so much
A sketch takes a turn for the meta...
Very clever sketch!
For some reason I just completely lose control at "gratsluitslouslh splteeltch impediment"
Clearly Christopher Nolan watches That Mitchell and Webb Look
this is the funniest 1 ever!
the chiropractor sounds like little britain with the paraplegic sketches
1'st time you see it its wonderous. Make the best of it cos once you know the joke all the funny is sucked out of it.
Supert, clever writing.
this is genius
Tschorry!
HERE'S YER PAPERWERK SIR!
Anyone else see the 'A Bit Of Fry And Laurie' sketch where the same thing happened but with an angry fan who claimed they stole his material?
Clearly inspired by the Fry & Laurie episode where the guy keeps coming out of the audience to accuse them of stealing his material.
Please share a clip
Would have been hilarious if they had Fry and Laurie in the audience to accuse them of that
HERE'S YER PAPERWERK SON!!!!
Joseph Bleasdale Thank you!
Sir
what the hell does that have to do with anything?!
coccyx is a funny word
Alright Lily, calm down.
@rabidtangerine
I think this sketch is all a bit crap intentionally just to make the end bit a funnier punchline.
that's the point
So meta!
@dfarmbrough That is not the question in discussion. Many things are of a disputed value, doesnt mean you dont know about them :P
Anyway, im off to get more cocktails pre-made lol, have fun man
@leprechaun192
Was all that filmed in front of a live audience?
What sketch was there's?
...and he writes it down. :-)
how do you know?
I thought it was going to be mocking chiropractics as a science, like the homeopathy sketch. Except that focusing on how it's potentially actively dangerous nonsense rather than mostly innocuous nonsense.
What sketch?
@tehmadcap Yeah as if seeing Robert Webb in high heels and pantyhose isn't funny enough. They wanted to do a stupid sketch, they just happened to choose a chiropractic office. Stop whining.
15 years after uploading I came back for Coccyx
Is this episode 72?
02:22 is that Brian cox in the audience? near the front on the left of the chiropracter
It's Brian Coccyx
fiercedietyfan hahaha

@AngelBiLove Chiropractors are essentially masseuses, and Jesus of Nazareth definitely existed (whether or not he was the Son of God is a matter of opinion).
So is real life.
was that his real chiropractor?
What exactly does Jesus have to do with chiropractors?
excellent sketch. a lot like fry and laurie actually. terrific punchline.

Chiropractic is the one true science
not science, philosophy. Its just a little silly to say someone never existed when there is so much evidence. And has been spoken of in many different religions. There is no way to prove he was the son of God or not, but he still was a living person. Why dont you think he existed?
This breaks the fifth and six walls 🤣😜
I'm not surprised Olivia Coleman won an Oscar, I didn't even recognise her here. Frankly I'm surprised she didn't win for this sketch.
Wow, Robert has great legs ^-^
The only way this sketch could be funnier is if they had some no-name person come out of the audience lol

You're kidding right? People use those words as insults all the time.
After watching Mitchell and Webb poke fun at Homeopathy, I do wonder whether David actually goes to a Chiropracter. It's the same realm of pseudoscience.
Not really, that's like comparing massage to hypnotism.
Rob Fraser actually chiropractic is alternative medicine and still largely unfoudned
I laughed a bit at the end but this one kinda failed....
The only joke here is the pseudoscience that is chiropractics
if its sinful, don't watch it and stop trying to push your religious on all.

no there is written evidence of plato that originates from the time of his life, there is no such evidence for jesus.

As if it doesn’t take a tonne of skill to be good at sketches and small comedic roles.
it's a shame to see her go so downhill
