Cab? No way. If you want a seamless journey go by Havas (Havatas?) bus, then funicular down to the tramvay. Dearer than Metro, and slower, but much cheaper than taxi.
Turkey doesn't seem to like intermodal integration! Some journeys can take an extremely long time! If arriving from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, you can take the metro line all the way to its end in Kadıköy and take the ferry to Eminönü and then take the tram. You can also take the Marmaray service via Ayrılık Çeşmesi if you prefer to do the whole thing by rail.
Merhaba! Tell me, please, now it is possible to take M2 when getting off M11, right? Do people have to pay for each segment (M11, M2, T1)? How much is it in all from havalimani to sultanahmet, please?
Thanks Abdullah for the video, this is really helpful! I will have 7 hours layover in Istanbul airport, arriving at 4.50am Saturday morning, and next flight is 12pm. A female solo traveler , am thinking to go Blue mosque (Sultanahmet area) for a quick sightseeing around the vicinity. If you don't mind me asking , do you think is possible to use metro to go back and forth from airport > Sultanahmet > and airport again within just limited hours of free time? (assuming i need to be physically at the airport by 10am and commuting time with metro perhaps take 1 hour? or 1.5hour for one way journey) How long actually is the journey to Sultanahmet from Istanbul international airport using metro? How much is taxi fare from Istanbul international airport to Sultanahmet if you know? How much Turkish Lira would you recommend to have in cash for breakfast and to purchase a metro card to use public transport? Seems there are a lot of walking for interchange station from one to another, just wonder the amount of time needed to go to each metro stations too :) Thank you Abdullah! :)
One question I asked myself was why not build the station directly in the terminal building? Otherwise, Istanbul is lucky to have a line that goes to the airport directly, and the airport is MASSIVE and impressive.
Yeah it's an oversight. Probably has to do with the way the contracts are prepared. The airport contract is seperate from the Metro and the airport was finished earlier while the Metro was still constructing. Having 2 unrelated construction sites in the same area could be problematic for organization. Regardless there needs to be a people mover in İsanbul Airport because the station is way too far.
I've noticed that about Turkish nitermodal connections. It is a similar situation with Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. I also notice long walks between stations in other places, e.g. the station in Gaziantep and the tram stop serving the station.
Gayrettepe connection to M2 hasn't opened yet. For now you have to get off at Kağıthane and then use M7 to go to Şişli-Mecidiyeköy. You can then continue on with M2.
@@Hornscopeyeah it is very new. Opened in 22/01/2023 and this video will soon be outsated because the extension of the metro will open linking it directly to M2 without needing to get on M7 first

@@AbdullahsParents Yes the metro line from Istanbul airport to city center was built by the Chinese in 6;months. It took a little longer for trains to start travelling on the line. That line is now fully operational. There's a caveat to using Chinese contractors: The supervision and contract terms have to be very tight. The Chinese contractors are capable but they will do a loose job if you allow it to happen. Case in point Dhaka BRT Line 3.
Extreme Bullshit. The construction took 5 years and was built by Kalyon, which is a Turkish company. Who can finish a 35km metro line in 6 months. No one is that stupid to believe that.

How do I pay for the train ticket at Laleli station? Card or cash?
Both are okay...
how much ticket cost?
Istanbul Airport to Kağıthane 25 TL.
Then per ticket generally 17 TL.
1$= 30 TL
Couldn't you just go one extra stop to Gayrettepe and connect there to the M2 green line?

Why catch yenikepi -Haciosman from kahigtane ? Don't we need to go towards yenikepi? Because yenikepi - haciosman will go back to airport, isn't it?
Why not go all the way to Gayrettepe Yönü and get on the M-3 there?
Currently it's also open. You can come directly to Gayrettepe and take M3 or 34AS
May i know how long it took u to arrive there?
01 hour
So the metro is in front of Gate 11. Why don’t you just come out from Gate 11 instead of walking to Gate 13? I don’t get it 🤷🏼♂️
You can’t exit from gate 11. It’s only for entrance. Gate 13 is for exit.
