This is my absolute favorite way to fish!!
Your tiny creek videos are the absolute best!
Catching small fish is actually more fun than catching big monster fish. Not to mention its a very humble kind of fishing wich in my personal opinion is the best. It's totally ok to not boast of personal accomplishments. Keep it simple bro, good job!👍
Your videos alone are purely responsible for getting me back into fishing! Thanks man!!!
Great to see you out in a Creek, I caught a rock bass,2 small mouth in less than 30 minutes using size 1 hook weedless with a yum😅. Used your technique and it worked flawlessly!! Thanks for everything 🙏
Ethan from @fishanything called it the Dalton rig. It does the work when nothing else will sometimes for sure
They have largemouth bass in Canada .
Caught my first walleye today and after that, my first green sunfish! Boy did I have to fish some hidden spots to find those greens. They were so beautiful. Bluegill and pumpkinseed are our most common sunfish in my area.
I have noticed for a long time that you enjoy ALL of the nature you encounter just like I do ,but I don't think I ever mentioned it before. Wading small creeks is about a lot more than just fishing .
John. I just discovered your channel. I freaking LOVE it!!! When I'm not fishing, I watch your videos and enjoy it just as much! Great videos, great personality. Love you already. God bless and ty so much for the content!
Those horse flies really hurt!!!! Aggressive fellows!!! Beautiful looking creek Jon!
Like fishing in an aquarium! Gorgeous fish. Ultralight is so much fun!
Super little video, glad you didn't cut anything out. Just FYI, my son lives in FAR NORTH IDAHO, right on the Canadian border. He fishes many small natural lakes and streams with good luck catching nice largemouth bass. They also have a good population of other fish as well (wallleye, pike, several different species of trout, and some species of salmon). I myself have caught largemouth bass in lakes there while looking at Canadian mountains in the background. It is a most beautiful place. Next to the Appalachians, I like it second best ! This creek trek looked very snakey, I'm glad you turned back when you did ! Always be careful. Pap Blevins
There is langmouth bass in Is southern Canada. The great lakes have langmouth Lady bass caught them in Canada on her you tub channel Aldo she caught some really big smallmouth.
Another great creek fishing video John! I related to every last bit of your struggles with the log jam. My closest creek has them bad and the bush requires machete work but anything for the hook up. Makes all the work worth it!
These videos are the best. Fish after fish.
Love the ultra lights
Love it when you get back to this type fishing
You can't Go wrong with Creek Fishing Adventures!
Alright, I'm getting myself an ultra light setup now lol.
I’m up in Canada. Southern Ontario. Small mouth and large mouth bass are very common along with northern pike, walleye, perch, trout, and a whole lot of common fresh water fish. A bunch of different sunfish species as well! Would love to come down there some time though. Those creeks look like a blast!
are they in the small creeks like this?
This kinda of creek fishing is what got you started with your channel & I can see it's very adventurous especially when you've never been there, man I'm telling you you are really getting good at casting as well, keep doing what you're doing, really enjoy it!👍🎣
yes i did a lot of this, Exploring is what really got me started and what keeps me motivated to fish lots of different waterways whether wading/ kayaking or however to go have more adventures
Yes! My two favorite things ultralight and creek fishing!
Awesome adventure glad you brought us along with you.
Nice Fish!
Funny story, JD:
I've lived 150 yards from the bank of a main river (not far from the headwaters) here in N-central Ohio, and NEVER once fished it. I just thought it was a dead river. An angry drainage ditch when the rains come; a stagnant string of occasional pools during the dry season.
Yesterday, for the first time ever, I put on wading shoes, tied on a Beetle Spin/MR.CRAPPIE SLABALICIOUS combination with an over-sized hammered blade, and KILLED the smallmouth over the course of just two hours. Couple of nice cats on the same spinner. Hoping to catch at least one rock bass, but never did. Barely made it 300 yards upstream before I lost the daylight.
36 years I've lived here, and never once wet a line in it. I can't dwell long on it without kicking myself for waiting so long.
Wife is NOT gonna be happy....
haha thats crazy
John, this was an awesome day of fishing in this little creek. The fish seemed very healthy and thriving. Thanks for the journey sir, and I hope to see you out fishing one day. God Bless and GO KATS!!!!!
I just passed thru western TN today and your state is beautiful! Had no time to fish but I'll definitely be coming back!
I like your geographic pinpoint for your location lol.
I’ve not been up there in about a year or so. Last time we were there we went down the other side just to find the gates locked and had to turn around and go back across the mountain lol
Hey John, love the vids of you creek fishing. You inspired my buddy and I to go creek fishing at we are loving it. One thing I wish you did more often was showing us what bait/lure you’re using and how/why to use it. It would help new comers like myself out a ton
Good fishing, good scenery a blessed day thank you for sharing.
Really enjoyed that! Those redbreast sunfish have really nice colors!!!
You might like fishing here in West Virginia if you like rock formations. Cranberry or Williams River has some cool rock formations throughout
Awesome video I like watching your videos before I go to sleep 😴 thanks for sharing be safe buddy 👍
Love your creek fishing videos.
Thanks 👍
John, Great Video Thanks for sharing and all your hard work and sharing your time and knowledge and wisdom and experience, letting me tag along on your Fish Creek Adventures. God Bless.
The Shenandoah used to be full of rock bass 25 or 30 years ago.
I just started back fishing about 6 months ago and haven't caught a single one. Something has happened to this river; it's not the same, and I'm going to have to learn her all over again.
I grew up fishing corks love it pond fishing also
I love this kind of fishing. Fun stuff.
Another great video! I found my new favorite spot close to me on Bull Run Creek in Powell/Halls. I had seen it as a possibility on the map but for some reason never checked it out until yesterday. probably too deep to wade but all sorts of bites yesterday. Unfortunately, I lost all the bigger ones! Rebel mini craw, rooster tail, and some sort of soft minnow were all getting attention from them fish.
I really need to start wading like this. I live in the same general area as you do. I am 42, and it is getting harder to find access to creeks. A lot of places I use to go to I can't now because of private owners now and new development.
Love it man! You are great, informative and entertaining! Peace
These videos are hard to beat!
Nice little creek
We catch a bunch of goodly sized rock bass in the creek right out back!
Doesn't look like there would be any fish in that creek .But you manage to find them. Thanks for the video 🙏
great video! still only about halfway through but already inspired to go creek fishing at my local
Good fish in that one brush piles and snakes
You should do more ultra light fishing or micro fishing
That's kitterally most of his channels content. He recently started using bigger baits for content purposes.
I wish we didn’t have so much vegetation in our waters. They have a lot of muddy bottoms with lots of vegetation or fast water over cobble. We don’t have a lot of native fish other than trout species although in the reservoirs I live along they have introduced largemouth and smallmouth bass and pumpkinseed sunfish. There are some catfish and pike too.
I’ve noticed your concern for snake has gone up, I’ve watched a ton of your past videos and have always thought “dang John is confident with his environment “ lol
Such cute petite fish! I fish in Florida and they are monsters.
Yes they are!
Excellent Creek Fishing Adventures here brother. I was curious at the end too What's around the log jam??? There are a few creeks near me where you temporarily escape the noise and it's very soothing...just me and some creek fish. Great choice brother. Blessings John
You should try Tenkara fly fishing. It would be right down your alley!
Sorry for such a LONG comment, but haha! We actually do have largemouth bass here in parts of Canada! 🙂 Mostly in Ontario and southern Québec, but also in parts of southern Manitoba in the central part of Canada, and select areas of New Brunswick out east.
Where I am in the province of Ontario, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass are as ubiquitous as they are in the U.S. Typical fish are 1-4 pounds, but better ones are in the 5-6 pound range, and a bass in the 7-8 pound range is always a possibility if you know what you're doing, and if you're fishing the right body of water. In fact, the Ontario record smallmouth was just broken last fall with a fish caught on Lake Erie, weighing a stout 10.15 pounds.
I can't speak for other parts of Canada, but here in Ontario we also have several panfish species as well, including: bluegill, pumpkinseed, northern sunfish, black crappie, white crappie, warmouth, yellow perch, rock bass, and green sunfish are starting to spread in certain areas in southern Ontario as well. There are other species too, but I can't think of them all.
Sadly, we're just out of range for other sunfish species like Redbreast (although, there are places in eastern Canada that have them), and we're out of range for Redear sunfish, Longear sunfish, etc. Sadly, we also don't have spotted bass or those gorgeous Coosa/Redeye bass you're so lucky to catch down your way.
However, as far as largemouth and smallmouth fishing is concerned, some of the best smallmouth fishing in the world can be found here in Ontario on lakes like Lake Erie, Lake Simcoe, the St. Lawrence River and Lake of the Woods in the northern part of the province where a smallie has to be 6+ pounds on any of those bodies of water before it begins to turn the head of seasoned anglers. Not to mention there's top notch smallmouth fishing to be had in countless waters all over the eastern half of Canada. You may have never been up here, but I know you'd absolutely love it. You're going to have to make the trip one day! 😉 There's SO many world class waterways up here for all kinds of species, and or many it's a fishing trip of a lifetime. Cheers and tight lines from the Great White North! 🇨🇦
I remember seeing that 10lb Smallie caught up there recently. I never see any creek fishing for bass and sunfish up there. Maybe I need to go explore
Bass is just a popular in Canada too
I've thought for a while that you may enjoy a BFS setup if you've grown to like your casting gear. A Shimano Curado BFS paired with a light action fast rod is a ton of fun for creek fishing. It is a bit of a learning curve, but you may find it enjoyable. And a lot of companies are making BFS rods now, including TFO. May be worth considering.
Had to look up BFS, that's a joke right? Baitcaster for finesse fishing sounds ridiculous...
Your right I really should try it
@sed6 It's a bit of a learning curve, but it's tremendously fun. I'm not sure what it is, but transitioning UL and Light actions to a casting setup is a blast. There is just something about it. I particularly enjoy throwing ultralight poppers and jigs. If you know someone with a BFS setup give it a shot before you bash it. You may like it.
Yup, you don't need to cut videos. This isn't professional TV. Just fun to watch. (and everyone sneezes!)
Yes that was a copperhead! They always say , when you see the Hershey kisses , then you know it’s a copperhead and that’s the best way yo describe them ! Even the smallest are deadly , be careful my friend !
❤
I live in Middle Tennessee just west of Nashville. I go creek fishing often and catch redbreast just as much as any other panfish species. Not sure where you think they don't exist here because they do in numbers.
thats interesting
Keep up the lengthy videos!!
2:55 did anyone else see all those fish off to the right!
Reminds me of my youth.
Now in my late 50's
Nope😂
And I have no fear of snakes, but broken bones....
No thanks
John great videos! What is the name of the lure to get one…do you think a small catfish or trout would bite it? What kind of bug does it imitate? God bless you!
VERY NICE 🙂😎👍
Looking for recommendations on an inexpensive all purpose ultralight setup. What do you use?
Wish I knew what creek that was because I just moved to Chattanooga and am looking for spots to go ultralight fishing!
Proving once again that the size of the 🌊 doesn't change the quality of the trip.....
I'm curious about how waterway laws are written in TN. In my state, the only way I can fish up/down a creek, legally, is if my kayak will float in it. I also have to gain access without trespassing. The floating part is the hard part. As soon as you have to get out to pull the kayak to the next pool, you're technically trespassing.
thats basically the same, the thing is most landowners dont care or even think about someone fishing the creek. especially if it's owned by businesses
I wish this was me right now😂
Wisconsin has a lot of largemouth.
Any tips on how fish without a license? I haven't fished in like 10+ years or so give or take because I can't afford the almost $40 it takes for the license when most of the places that I go you don't really need a license to fish anyway like on a golf course and such.
To keep fish from following too close to you and getting spooked, do you speed your retrieve up pretty early once you know that your bait is leaving the deeper pool? Just wondering for my own fishing.
yeah i think i do, most of the time if i am standing still the fish have no idea what i am
Watch lady bass she caught good largemouth bass and Smallmouth bass up in Canada.
You can't beat chartreuse
How do you like that TFO rod? Been thinking of getting one myself.
Great rod
its great, i really good UL rod for the money
@@CreekFishingAdventures Awesome! I might pick one up shortly. Always love getting new rods, haha
What type of wading shoes do you use? Thanks
Wondering if i should go 6' or 6'6 for my first ultralight rod?
Both sizes are great. If you have plenty of casting area the 6-6 might be better.
You must have Superman vision
First, nice vid John
Does that little stream ever get cool enough fpr, say, Brown Trout?
no not here
We have redbreast in the mountians of Arkansas
i didnt know that, i know they have some in texas that were brought in
You ever have problems with leaches while wading?
no i havent
have you ever fished anywhere in iowa?
No not yet
you should try sometime id like to go shore fishing with ya ill be fun@@CreekFishingAdventures
first! how's it going John?
great, thanks for watching
That is an interesting crek but you think smallies would be loaded in it
yep, go about 1 to 2 hours north and they will be
I really wonder … is there gold in any of these creeks?
1
I think this guy can catch more fish than Jesus
I'm surprised you don't run into any cottonmouths..........
No water moccasins in TN. Rattlesnakes and copperhead only.
