Yeah imma stick with my XB33's, and when the time comes, replace them with hopefully whatever comes after the XE300. Not gonna lie I feel jipped that I have to wait 4 years from when I got my speakers to actually upgrade them. I love the XB33's, I know some people don't like them but they're missing the best feature. In stereo mode they sound best. Most reviewers only have one. As a singular speaker, it's good, but two? That's more than the sum of their parts.

I have owned a JBL charge 3 for years. It finally got distorted at louder volumes. I've owned a JBL charge 5 for the past year and it has been great! Battery life is good and it sounds good too. I recently purchased a Turtlebox and I will never look back. It blows the other speakers mentioned out of the water! Xb33 is 84.2 decimals and the Charge 5 is 94 decimals. It's definitely gonna be at a higher price point but this thing is 120 decibels, fully waterproof, built like a tank, and very crisp with a 25 hour playback time. It also has auxiliary input. The only cons for me are that it doesn't have XLR input, USB C as a charge option, costs $400, and weighs 10 pounds. With that being said I don't see many scenarios where I will leave it at home in place of the charge 5 tbh. I can't wait to get a second one so I can run them in stereo! Love my clip4 and CHARGE5 for everything. hiking, in the river on the lake In the shower literally every where. Theyve never done me wrong. And people bitching about taking a calls on a speaker? No one wants to hear your bs. Quit being lazy and pick up your phone.

It's no contest. JBL Charge 5 wins hands down. I've had mine for about a week and loving it but I am having a problem with Bluetooth crackles/stuttering even when my phone is close to the speaker. It only happens intermittently but it is annoying. Has anyone else experienced this? If I replace my unit will the new one do it as well or is mine just faulty?
Try playing music through laptop, if it doesn't crackle then it's a phone issue and you search for Bluetooth noise resolutions on TH-cam You'll have to make some changes in developer settings or something
Sony as a company has completely given up on their portable speaker line lol, they continually release new stuff every year and they had the same segment of speakers as other companies such as anchor or JBL but when you compare them to those Brands like Marshall as well they end up costing the same but sound the worst😅
sony sounds as if it would be inside a box it is due to the bad design that its engineers made but it can be improved by putting a treble to what I see if it has good basss
The JBL sounds louder, but the sound is distorted which is uncomfortable to listen to. So the sound quality is definitely not good. The "instrument separation" is only arbitrary, normally it's done by stereo/surround sound, so with mono speaker you won't get any real spacial instrument separation.
Sony needs to make their speakers louder they need to add tweeters into some of their midsize and small speakers and make them sound just better overall I'm so tired of their warm sound signature

Didn't expect Sony to make their mid size speaker worst. Sony's XB33 a lot better compare to Sony XE300. The design's quite bland unlike XB33 which has it's significant light show. and what's more it also has aux port going with it. Comparing it to JBL Charge 5, the Charge 5 easily outdone Sony's XE 300. JBL Charge 5 can handle it's low and highs at 87% volume while Sony XE300 had to go up to 100% volume just to keep up with JBL Charge 5. And aside from that Sony's XE300 sounds muffled compared to JBL Charge 5 sound clarity thanks to it 's 10W tweeter handling all the highs. While JBL Charge 5 does have a better balanced sound profile than the Sony's XE300, playing it at 100% volume makes compression artifacts quite noticeable. 🙇🏿♂️🙇🏿♂️🙇🏿♂️
don't be envious, you won't hear minor sourcing quality differences from speaker drivers of this caliber. the only differences you'll be able to hear will be tuning/tonal differences
Mic is very important When u are sharing a group call or when your hands are not free , you can easily use it. I go for Sony only for mic that I might use from time to time .
Keeping the "low"! What's your reference. By low do you mean bass? If so Sony has no lower bass extension. Its all upper bass meaning its boosted above 100 Hz. While Charge 5 has more deep bass extension which topples to 50 Hz.
I went with JBL charge 5. It was $130 on Amazon and it came with a speaker case straight from JBL. You just can't go wrong with that.

Just got jbl...I already had a smaller jbl go 3....AMAZING SPEAKER, MEDIUM SIZE, LOUD BASS, COOL DESIGN & WATERPROIF

My only complain in jbl is that 65hz-20kzh. There are low sound that you csnt hear on jbl anymore but you still can on sony.

The JBL DOES allow a wired audio input through its USB C connector in service mode. Works great in Android.

Keeping the "low"! What's your reference. By low do you mean bass? If so Sony has no lower bass extension. Its all upper bass meaning its boosted above 100 Hz. While Charge 5 has more deep bass extension which topples to 50 Hz.
For the record if you're not knowledgeable about frequency response then keep quiet.
