Kalyanam Panniyum Brahmachari is a 1954 Indian Tamil-language comedy film, directed by P. Neelakantan and produced by B. R. Panthulu. The film stars T. R. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Padmini and Ragini. The film had a musical score by T. G. Lingappa. It was released on 13 April 1954 and became a box office success.
Plot Summary
Ganapathi is the one who is least interested in marrying. His parents chose a rural girl for him, and the entire family, including Ganapathi's friend Ambalavaanan (Sivaji Ganesan), pays a visit to the Bride's house. Ambalavaanan's girlfriend (Padmini) also belongs to the same family as Ragini Unaware of this, Ganapathi falls in love with Padmini, oblivious to the fact that his best friend is already in love with her! The hero rejects the girl from the countryside. Padmini gives her a new identity, alters her appearance, and introduces her to Ganapathi. He is smitten by her and marries her. He quickly discovers the truth. However, the issues are resolved, and the couples go on to live happily ever after.
