i like your builds they are amazing - an there great for RP ideas - however i must submit this challenge, build something thats not a garage like box that i can use on official server where i can be comfortable breeding 20 carchars or 40 rexs at a time or about 30 brontos at once along with storage for meat i currently have about 60 fridges so i can meat run on weekends an use the food threw out the week.
@@Wezdumb Talk about a challenge lmao! How on earth, I honestly don't think official would allow that much structure on the server as the structure cap is 5,000. I'd say, my ARK build is perfect for you if you haven't seen that yet, that would definitely do all the rex's etc just not the brontos. You'd also have to shorten the build by about 10 tiles in length as you will hit structure cap with it 😬, with that many dinosaurs, i wouldnt know what to do

TBH I searched for a while to find really good looking treehouse base vids that are actually livable and couldn't find anything that would fit my vibes... till now... Ark's building mechanic is that if you have a foundation of some sort then the ceiling above that foundation does not require pillars. So, because below you have pillars with a "floor" the ceiling above don't need pillars. If you think about when you build a square building it does not require pillars in the middle of the floor to support the ceiling. It is a very nice mechanic. Your stairs are really epic. Love them
So it's not just witchcraft then! There is a science behind this 🤓😆, thanks so much for explaining, now I know this is possible it opens up to more building ideas 😮. Glad you like my stairs 😁
@@LolsAtLance That is the trick if you ever want to build a "floating" bridge (say an arched bridge or a faux cable supported bridge that normally wouldn't work with ARKs support mechanics), you line the river/ocean floor with pillars in the ground underneath (not actually going up to the structure). With ARK mechanics, the pillars underneath count as the "supports" for the bridge platform above.
If I understand the logic correctly he could have made a "tree platform" like above, but much lower, just above the floor and could have had floating stair all the way up.
@@justinhyatt1114 Yeah, if you are fine with a flat platform at ground level of the base of the tree, then that allows you to build whatever you want as long as it stays within the area of the floor platform.

Hey Mr LolsAtLance. First off thank you for doing a spiral staircase for a tree house in ASA. Second though... this is strictly an improvement tip for your staircase. If you go to the bottom of each triangle and square and then proceeded downwards with a wall panel till you reach the ground to slip into the ground underneath your platform's a foundation ring of square and triangle foundation blocks all the way around the tree... this will allow you to remove all of your pillars without the fear of the entire staircase being scraped. You can still make use of the pillars as they do finish nicely with a look from middle earth but without the mess of pillars connected to the ground Lastly ASA does have a rather nice mod that allows you to say add vines and foliage into your pillar system that spirals around your staircase top to bottom 😉 The wall panels are scaffolding that allows you to slip into the ground your circler foundation beneath your staircase, with which you can remove once your staircase is complete and perfect

It took me a few minutes to understand what you meant, but I think I get it now and definitely need to try this out!! I really want to try it on my newest build on a video I put out today (on my channel) if you watch it you'll see at the end of the video I make these bridges that could really utilise this technique cause the bridge had too many pillars for my liking. Would that work do you think?... also I've used that mod your talking about on my encanto build and my build I released today in my survival video 😆😁, thanks again 😀😀😀

I've only heard the name ARK and knew it was a game but thats all I knew. My boyfriend has played sense he was little and he explained it was a dinosaur game. I kinda just listened and moved on. This popped up on my fyp tho and Ive fallen down a rabbit hole. This game is so pretty and has so many different things to do!! Also you're really silly I love tree houses and you're a great builder. :3

Great job! Beautiful build! I had to do one as well! One little hint you can double snap the quarter floors into a full size floor to give you the snap point so you done have to have the 1/4 wall coming out the side or build down from your sloped ceiling is another option.

Other youtubers would just cut it out or go back and redo it but, you showed what could go wrong and how to fix it. That is worth so much more. Cheers!

The best part is that I learned so much from this. I think I'm going to use this concept to make a tower in the middle of the lake just next to the volcano. In the middle I can place an elevator maybe where the tree would be. I'm thinking lots of metal and glass...

At 27:27 when you are cautioning against removing the quarter wall I couldn't help but notice the pillar on the quarter wall side is strait while the opposite side is slightly canted. This would suggest that the strait pillar either doesn't need support or it is supported above by the roof. It should be possible to remove the quarter wall and use the pillar to support the walls. Also, the canted pillars are probably what caused the ceiling gaps.
Only just seen this comment so sorry for the late response! This is great advice that I didn't realise when building this, might revisit and try this out 😁
Amazing build. I’ve copied the build with ASR mod and a medieval deco mod on the new Center map including a rope bridge to a second platform. The ASR bits I was able to paint completely white and made the pillars like thick beams.
this is just completely awe-inspiring. Those stairs are EVERYTHING. Can you do an attractive looking organic polymer farm? (with penguins and pelagornis?) or any other kind of farm would be amazing
also - the foundation support in this game is janky as hell - if you like the bottom of a river with high land on either side with foundations you can then build a bridge over the top without needing pillars to support the bridge as long as you are connected to the foundations at one point. If you check out Phlinger Phoo's Bridge Building - Old School Building In Ark's The Underdogs 57 from a year ago you'll see how he does it. He has a visible bridge below his ridiculous stair case, but it should be possible with submerged foundations too.
I can certainly consider this, no ones ever asked me for such a farm to be made XD I'd have to do my research for this one, but I like the idea of an arctic farm 😆

Me n the mates just set up like ten tree platforms between three of us and are building a giant Ewok village! Little tip, the ‘K Rustic Bridge Medium/Small’ with the Rustic Structures mod is amazing for connecting tree platforms as well

Hey so, the big leaf plants are/were either savaroot or citrinol HOWEVER, they recently changed how the plants looked on an update, so they no longer look like this sadly 😰😭, they still look good though xD
Underneath only needed 1 railing. Not 2. It would have made it look like a deterrent to critters climbing up the tree and onto the platform. As a RPer those are things I consider with my builds. Other than 40:12 that though this is a fantastic design for a Forest Dwelling village. Love it. ❤
I loved the way this looks. It definitely looks awesome. I tried to replicate this but idk if my placement was wrong but ultimately my stairs kept just circling around to the center of the tree itself so I couldn't actually make the winding stairs going around the trunk of the tree.

You are definitely the most underrated creator I’ve seen! Your vids are so thought out, meticulous, and beautifully executed. Well done! I do have one question, how do you never seem to run out of building materials? I noticed you place items but the numbers never go down 😂 is this creative mode? I bought a server simply just to build on, with a bunch of plant mods and such, and I can’t get some of the admin commands to work. For example I think they changed some things so now you have to put the word “cheat” before the command, but still some don’t seem to work for me. It would make building random giant bases a lot more doable if I could figure out how to get the commands to all work and didn’t have to manually make allll of the supplies for them 😅
Most of these videos I see with admin commands are done on PC, I play on Xbox with a keyboard and mouse so idk if i should be doing something different. Not many explanations for Xbox videos, so figured I’d ask here! Well, off to catch your cliff top base video! 😂♥️

So, I also own a server and play on PC and I also have found when I do admin codes on the server it's different as I have to put "cheat" infront of everything, so first of all I need to do "enablecheats" followed by the password so "enablecheats password" Then after that I can do "cheat GCM" Which gives me creative mode. Have you tried this? 😬.... on single player mode which is what I do all my creative builds on you can just toggle creative mode from the main menu as long as you turn on that feature in the world settings. I hope that all makes sense and helps you 🙏 😄
You CAN get rid of the quarter walls in 3 differant ways: You could make the whole roof the same snap point, than snap walls down from the roof. Also that wanted shape could also be made on the floor with a hexagon of triangles. Lastly you can snap directly to pillars going up the sides. There ya go 3 solutions to your problem. Keeping the whole stucture on the same sub-grid will obviously keep it more stable and less likely to explode or cause unsightly gaps. Finding cool sulutions to problems and recognizing snap patterns is fun in this game. The building system goes really deep and i love it.

Awesome video! I see how easy it is in creative where you can fly around. Are there any tips for building these vaulted sides? Im having issues having to place many different things just to get to the height to place the blocks
My biggest tip is owning a Tapejara, theyre the best dinosaurs for building in hard to reach places, either that or you build a tempoary scaffolding made of stairs, which is another technique i do a lot XD
so this is something you could do in ark way back, if you build a foundation down super low to the ground, you can pillar up each side as high as you wanted, and then connect things in the middle no matter the distance with no support, because the game is reading the structure having the support of the foundations. so if you wanted to do this and be super clever about it, if you could find some way to sink the foundations out of site, you could make a ring around tree that way, then when it feels artistic enough or whatever you decide, you can run pillars into the tree or whatever to make it look like its supported

you don't need the awkward quarter wall if you build the joining roofs first and build down. love the build though using it as a jumping of point for my own.
I tried making a boat house with the pillar technique you just mentioned and ran into 2 problems. 1) Enough thou the pillar went as far as it would go, it still complained no foundation was found. 2) at random times certain ceiling platforms would self-destruct. one moment it snaps into place, the next it would break. I'd say it's a glitch but I'm not code savvy to know
That is very interesting, I literally have never done this pillar technique before until now, so i'm no where near an expert or tech savy enough to be able to help with this glitch 😬😢, I'd say screw it and just do pillars all the way up (unless the ocean is SUPER deep where you're building haha) I think you have to make sure some of the ceilings are connected by pillars ALL the way and then the rest you dont have to connect?

@@LolsAtLance all of them are pvp but with the rules off no destroying bases so a small or médium base with a nice dino garage (even if the main house is a little small) would be awesome to fit in the kingdome cuz this servers are kingdom against kingdom and that stuff so the problem here is that u cant make a big base (I still love this big builds)

I tried the same way as you and failed at first when I couldn't put the stairs on the ground, and I couldn't adjust the posts to be low to the ground like you? Why is that?
I re-download the game to build this but my build snapping won't work like yours. Pillars wont snap to stairs, stairs can't be placed anywhere until snapped to ceiling tile, and ceiling tiles will only snap to the middle of pillars
@faunfreak oh this sounds like a pain, if this is the case I would... place pillar alot further away from the tree and place the ceiling tile, basically atart from a ceiling tile rather than the stairs. Different technique to mine but should get same results.... are you playing on ARK Evolved? Or Ascended?

@@faunfreak Ohhh you're on Ark Evolved! That's why the building mechanics are so different, you'll have to adapt it to the building mechanics on Evolved, do similar to what I said, the only way you can get the pillars on the side of the ceilings in Evolved is by using the Fence Foundations, put them on the edge of the Ceiling tiles, then place a pillar from there :) if that makes sense XD

At 27:15 Instead of the quarter wall to hold up the doorways, you could use a fence foundation snapped to the same spot.

If you go to the bottom of each triangle and square and then proceeded downwards with a wall panel till you reach the ground to slip into the ground underneath your platform's a foundation ring of square and triangle foundation blocks all the way around the tree... this will allow you to remove all of your pillars without the fear of the entire staircase being scraped.
You can still make use of the pillars as they do finish nicely with a look from middle earth but without the mess of pillars connected to the ground
Lastly ASA does have a rather nice mod that allows you to say add vines and foliage into your pillar system that spirals around your staircase top to bottom 😉
The wall panels are scaffolding that allows you to slip into the ground your circler foundation beneath your staircase, with which you can remove once your staircase is complete and perfect

I really want to try it on my newest build on a video I put out today (on my channel) if you watch it you'll see at the end of the video I make these bridges that could really utilise this technique cause the bridge had too many pillars for my liking. I've only heard the name ARK and knew it was a game but thats all I knew. My boyfriend has played sense he was little and he explained it was a dinosaur game. I kinda just listened and moved on. This popped up on my fyp tho and Ive fallen down a rabbit hole. This game is so pretty and has so many different things to do!! Great job! Beautiful build! I had to do one as well! One little hint you can double snap the quarter floors into a full size floor to give you the snap point so you done have to have the 1/4 wall coming out the side or build down from your sloped ceiling is another option.

At 27:27 when you are cautioning against removing the quarter wall I couldn't help but notice the pillar on the quarter wall side is strait while the opposite side is slightly canted. This would suggest that the strait pillar either doesn't need support or it is supported above by the roof. It should be possible to remove the quarter wall and use the pillar to support the walls. Also, the canted pillars are probably what caused the ceiling gaps.

Amazing build. I’ve copied the build with ASR mod and a medieval deco mod on the new Center map including a rope bridge to a second platform. The ASR bits I was able to paint completely white and made the pillars like thick beams.

this is just completely awe-inspiring. Those stairs are EVERYTHING. Can you do an attractive looking organic polymer farm? (with penguins and pelagornis?) or any other kind of farm would be amazing
also - the foundation support in this game is janky as hell - if you like the bottom of a river with high land on either side with foundations you can then build a bridge over the top without needing pillars to support the bridge as long as you are connected to the foundations at one point. If you check out Phlinger Phoo's Bridge Building - Old School Building In Ark's The Underdogs 57 from a year ago you'll see how he does it. He has a visible bridge below his ridiculous stair case, but it should be possible with submerged foundations too.
I can certainly consider this, no ones ever asked me for such a farm to be made XD I'd have to do my research for this one, but I like the idea of an arctic farm 😆

Me n the mates just set up like ten tree platforms between three of us and are building a giant Ewok village! Little tip, the ‘K Rustic Bridge Medium/Small’ with the Rustic Structures mod is amazing for connecting tree platforms as well

Hey so, the big leaf plants are/were either savaroot or citrinol HOWEVER, they recently changed how the plants looked on an update, so they no longer look like this sadly 😰😭, they still look good though xD

Underneath only needed 1 railing. Not 2. It would have made it look like a deterrent to critters climbing up the tree and onto the platform. As a RPer those are things I consider with my builds. Other than 40:12 that though this is a fantastic design for a Forest Dwelling village. Love it. ❤

I loved the way this looks. It definitely looks awesome. I tried to replicate this but idk if my placement was wrong but ultimately my stairs kept just circling around to the center of the tree itself so I couldn't actually make the winding stairs going around the trunk of the tree.

you can use the half ceilings to attach roofs to close those gaps up and give you a slight overhang. i do it on all my builds

You are definitely the most underrated creator I’ve seen! Your vids are so thought out, meticulous, and beautifully executed. Well done! I do have one question, how do you never seem to run out of building materials? I noticed you place items but the numbers never go down 😂 is this creative mode? I bought a server simply just to build on, with a bunch of plant mods and such, and I can’t get some of the admin commands to work. For example I think they changed some things so now you have to put the word “cheat” before the command, but still some don’t seem to work for me. It would make building random giant bases a lot more doable if I could figure out how to get the commands to all work and didn’t have to manually make allll of the supplies for them 😅
Most of these videos I see with admin commands are done on PC, I play on Xbox with a keyboard and mouse so idk if i should be doing something different. Not many explanations for Xbox videos, so figured I’d ask here!

So, I also own a server and play on PC and I also have found when I do admin codes on the server it's different as I have to put "cheat" infront of everything, so first of all I need to do "enablecheats" followed by the password so "enablecheats password" Then after that I can do "cheat GCM" Which gives me creative mode. Have you tried this? 😬.... on single player mode which is what I do all my creative builds on you can just toggle creative mode from the main menu as long as you turn on that feature in the world settings. I hope that all makes sense and helps you 🙏 😄
I guess if it is a thicker tree, you just double up the stairs in a couple of those areas?

You CAN get rid of the quarter walls in 3 differant ways: You could make the whole roof the same snap point, than snap walls down from the roof. Also that wanted shape could also be made on the floor with a hexagon of triangles. Lastly you can snap directly to pillars going up the sides. There ya go 3 solutions to your problem. Keeping the whole stucture on the same sub-grid will obviously keep it more stable and less likely to explode or cause unsightly gaps. Finding cool sulutions to problems and recognizing snap patterns is fun in this game. The building system goes really deep and i love it.

Awesome video! I see how easy it is in creative where you can fly around. Are there any tips for building these vaulted sides? Im having issues having to place many different things just to get to the height to place the blocks
My biggest tip is owning a Tapejara, theyre the best dinosaurs for building in hard to reach places, either that or you build a tempoary scaffolding made of stairs, which is another technique i do a lot XD

so this is something you could do in ark way back, if you build a foundation down super low to the ground, you can pillar up each side as high as you wanted, and then connect things in the middle no matter the distance with no support, because the game is reading the structure having the support of the foundations. so if you wanted to do this and be super clever about it, if you could find some way to sink the foundations out of site, you could make a ring around tree that way, then when it feels artistic enough or whatever you decide, you can run pillars into the tree or whatever to make it look like its supported
I love that this has been a thing for a while, I honestly just had no idea about this mechinc in all my years of playing! Thanks for explaining it so well. I will expore this more in the future XD

I tried making a boat house with the pillar technique you just mentioned and ran into 2 problems.
1) Enough thou the pillar went as far as it would go, it still complained no foundation was found.
2) at random times certain ceiling platforms would self-destruct. one moment it snaps into place, the next it would break. I'd say it's a glitch but I'm not code savvy to know
That is very interesting, I literally have never done this pillar technique before until now, so i'm no where near an expert or tech savy enough to be able to help with this glitch 😬😢, I'd say screw it and just do pillars all the way up (unless the ocean is SUPER deep where you're building haha) I think you have to make sure some of the ceilings are connected by pillars ALL the way and then the rest you dont have to connect?
God dayummmmm I wish I was more creative. My buildings end up being boxes. Or larger boxes.

@@LolsAtLance all of them are pvp but with the rules off no destroying bases so a small or médium base with a nice dino garage (even if the main house is a little small) would be awesome to fit in the kingdome cuz this servers are kingdom against kingdom and that stuff so the problem here is that u cant make a big base (I still love this big builds)

I re-download the game to build this but my build snapping won't work like yours. Pillars wont snap to stairs, stairs can't be placed anywhere until snapped to ceiling tile, and ceiling tiles will only snap to the middle of pillars
@faunfreak oh this sounds like a pain, if this is the case I would... place pillar alot further away from the tree and place the ceiling tile, basically atart from a ceiling tile rather than the stairs. Different technique to mine but should get same results.... are you playing on ARK Evolved? Or Ascended?

@@faunfreak Ohhh you're on Ark Evolved! That's why the building mechanics are so different, you'll have to adapt it to the building mechanics on Evolved, do similar to what I said, the only way you can get the pillars on the side of the ceilings in Evolved is by using the Fence Foundations, put them on the edge of the Ceiling tiles, then place a pillar from there :) if that makes sense XD
