  • Here we have an at home install of the MBRP Armor Pro T304 exhaust system P/N: S5149304 on a 2017 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 liter 392 V8.
This video contains, a before & after sound comparison, clips of the install itself, along with some test drives including ECO-MODE (MDS). I am happy with the sound and build quality of this exhaust system. I hope this video gives you a good idea of what to expect when considering your options. One of the key elements of this kit is the deletion of the resonator, thus a drone is present. On my truck the drone peaks right around 1700 rpm, which is 55 mph in top gear (final drive ratio of 4.88:1 and 35" tires). While driving at 70 mph, which is above 2000 rpm, you can barely hear the exhaust at all. In fact, anywhere above 2000 rpm is pretty mellow. The drone is also not present while towing. Having the truck in Tow/Haul mode keeps it above 2000 rpm at any cruising speed where a load is present.

Exhaust has massive drone, but sounds like a race truck

Hows the sound during normal driving? Any drone on the highway?

When cruising 55, which is 1600 rpm in this truck, it has a pretty healthy drone. When cruising 50 or under, or 60 or over, it is quiet. Also, when you nail it, it’s not very loud. To be honest, I recently removed the system and put the factory setup back on it because it was so loud in the 50-60 range. The quality of construction was top notch, but the muffler was just not for me. With all of that said, it increased my fuel mileage average by 1 mpg. When I put the original system back on, it went back down.
      Thanks for watching and inquiring!

I cut the pipe on mine so you couldn't see it in the tip much better look

The manufacturer leaves the extra length in the end of the tailpipe to prevent heat from your exhaust from blueing or discoloring the tip.

    Honest feed back incoming:
A 5-7 minute video would have been more than enough. I don't know if there were any instructions in the video because after I lost interest, I just skipped to the end to hear the exhaust. Other than that, it sounded great (unfortunately, too much in cab drone to my liking). Thanks for the video.
