Yup! I'm from South Florida but living in the Midwest, and when someone says, "Oh, but how is it you don't have a southern accent?" I know that they don't know Florida at all. 😆
I’m from the south and I’m an educated woman. I was visiting family up in the Chicago area and we went shopping. I was in a drugstore and asked for a sharpie. People openly looked at me and laughed. It happened twice in one day. It hurt my feelings. I should’ve blessed their little hearts out loud.😊
@@acsicsek My very southern accent compared to their accent. I may have said y'all which seems to make people think you are less intelligent than you are.
@@DietMJThank you for the explanation. My initial thought was something along the lines of 'look the not so sharp nugget in the tool box is asking for a sharpie haha' just for being southern and/or maybe the accent sounded funny to them
I'm from New Orleans and if I don't slow down when I'm talking the letter r comes out little are-uh and I get more hassle for them than I like to admit. Don't get me started on oil (Earl) smh.
We are proud of Waffle House. It is dependable for first responders and in disasters like hurricanes. If it ain't open dang, run for your lives. That hurricane or tornado outbreak is more dangerous than can be rated!
I feel the Canadian equivalent has to be Tim Hortons where they are everywhere (like if you step outside, you can guaranteed see another Tim Hortons down the street) and when you get a flood, inevitably you will see someone canoeing through the Drive Thru for a coffee… 😅
Oregon Trail was very tragic for me. Pregnant aunt Mable fell out of the wagon into a stream and drowned, daddy died trying to get us across across the river, he slipped on a rock, cut his leg open and got gangrene, all my cousins got small pox so we had to kick them off the wagon in a field. We still haven't gone back for them.
I have only been as South as Kentucky, but I love it. I feel people down South is more relaxed than Northern Indiana, close to Chicago area. I hate cold climate so South naturally attracts me 😂
I live in the deep south and the people in the small country towns are definitely more friendly. But in the southern medium towns up to the bigger cities the people are very uptight and angry about everything and everybody. More than the north.
I'm watching Ray Donovan on Paramount n his wife's Boston accent has those Boston accents getting on my nerves.. No offense tho, respect to everyone.. Do love the Sam Adam's "From Bossten" commercials tho..lol
We moved to Huntsville when I was 4. Dad was a Boeing engineer. Made rocketships. So I grew up there. Lots of smart people. Accents are unique. Huntsville's not at all like Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee or Kentucky. But still southern, all the same.
An we don't all say bless yer hart and not mean it in a good sense. But the rest of do mean it in a bad sense when we say.....whale bless hims lil pea-picken hart!
Generational Floridians are as southern as they come. More than the average Atlanta resident. I don't think there is a native from tampa down. Very few places are actually stereotypically southern. Sad in a way. I miss those nice. Friendly and courteous ppl.
In Ft Lauderdale, the Waffle House was so bad you could actually see the grease running down the walls! I say Waffle House is where you go when you're too drunk for Denny's!

On average, Waffle Houses around the globe serve up 341 strips of bacon, 238 orders of hash browns, and 127 cups of coffee per minute. In total, Waffle House has prepared more than 2.5 billion eggs and 1.3 billion orders of grits since opening in 1955... Crazy!!!!

Y'know people in the south like comedy too. But maybe make fun of the A-holes in the North not just the good people who like em scattered, covered and smothered!

Waffle House is definitely it’s own thing. I’m not complaining. Any food I don’t have to shop for, cook, and clean up after, is food I’m thankful for. And most of the food I’ve had at Waffle House has been as good as the food I cook at home. But stay humble. Don’t get too fancy with your special orders.
