(1) You can use honey in place of sugar. This was also used by the Ancients as they didn't have refined sugar 3000 years ago. (2) Tampons for deep puncture wounds until you can get to the closest emergency services. It is the same principal as the maxipad and has a string for easy removal. I had suggested this to a nephew who was in the Marines who was almost deployed to Afghanistan 10 years ago. He thought I was crazy until I explained the rationale. It could be the difference between life and death from bleeding out. (3) Shampoo as body wash. I got this from a nephew who was in the Air Force. With limited time to shower during Basic training at Lackland AFB (3 minutes is what he said), shampoo your hair and scrub your body as the lather rinses down. While I definitely take longer than 3 minutes, I do use the shampoo this way. Soap is soap and saves me the cost of a body wash. In response to all of the comments about sugar in the wound making you diabetic, increasing bacterial growth, or darkening the scar: really? It WON'T make one diabetic- thats genetics and poor diet. While refined sugar, over the long run, might present a slight risk of bacterial growth, it is used in a pinch by Home Health nurses to debride, or clean, bed sores and prevent infection. Raw honey or sugar is best. There is a honey based gel used in nursing homes to dress open sores on legs and arms. And I would prefer a darkened scar to amputation of an appendage or limb from gangrene any day. Food for thought. Have a nice day, y'all.
Fishnet stockings works well in winter. They keep air pockets forming under your pants and if they get wet, your body heat will dry them out in minutes. Learned that one during Winter Warfare Artic Training

Was in the USAF, it's really not worth doing outside of your dorm/bunks. If you're really curious though, we just used hospital corners and binders to super tuck our sheets, aligned the top sheet top to the top of the mattress, hospital corners on the tucked in bottom, then did the same thing with our "comforters" and tucked in the pillow under it. Not practical for your beds at home.
I have been using the 4 turn rule for a long time although I normally never have to utilize it to the fullest as the car turns. I have bad anxiety and think that any person that makes two turns the same as me is following me.
here is a common one that wasn't in the video, to save space in dressers or while packing clothes, just fold pants, shirts and underwear in half and roll them up real tight. Creates a lot more space than you think.
Combat boots are designed to support the ankle, the lacing doesn't matter. The reason for parallel lacing is so the boot can easily be "cut off". And a bonus fact: during WW2, in the jungle Gurkha's would sneak up a position at night and feel the boot laces. If they were crossed you'd get your throat slit with a kukri. Only Japanese had crossed laces.
I liked the one about putting duck tape on your feet, and making your bed neat. also starting a fire with cotton balls and Vaseline. I tie my shoes with double knots when the shoe laces are worn and start to come undone. Great and useful video keep it up.

@TheNewyorkdragon the tape was made by the Army from something called duck cloth which already existed and was a product. The Army called it DUCK tape and it was olive drab. It wasn't until the 1950s when another Corporation got a hold of it and they started calling it DUCT tape because some people were wrapping pipes in it even though it's actually a shity insulator. Hi, Army Vet here. Lotttsss of flaws. 1. Duct tape is duct tape because it's used on ducts, not ducks. The green tape is "hundred mile an hour" tape. We use mole skin and two socks per foot to prevent blisters. 2. There is actually a very specific regulation dictating how to lace the boots, it's always left over right all the way up. The boots are actually only uncomfortable for the first week after getting them new. 3. We don't do that. At all. 4. We don't do that at all. We use alcohol based disinfectants. 5. Compression shorts do help, but it's mainly to moderate body temperature and moisture. 6. Never heard of the military tuck, and I've been on honor guard teams. 7. Never used vaseline and cotton to start a fire, we actually have real fire starters. 8. Losing a tail isn't even military related. 9. 45 degree corners are only a thing in basic training and AIT. 10. Peeing in the shower is normal and not exclusively military, but the amount of time you save is definitely worth it.
I like the lose the tail tip. That would be useful for a lot of women out there driving. But what if you're on foot or commuting on public transit? I had a bit of a scare some years back when someone appeared to keep looking in my direction. It scared me so much I got off at my home station and went home instead of going to a restaurant I was actually heading for. I guess it was just as well, since it was Veterans Day and I thought the Golden Corral was having their free meals for veterans. I later found out it wouldn't be till the following Monday and I would have been more frustrated if I gotten over there!
Well you won't get a broken ankle from slipping on street made slippery by snowfall, but honestly, no kind of lacing will make you completely safe from hurting yourself when falling. It's better to learn to fall correctly and to not brace.
Fresh grass clippings are great for using as bandage for wounds. Most types of grass have same biological properties as human plasma. Because of this, the clippings will stop bleeding and act as an antiseptic.
Most of the things are taught us in NCC and from past the indians were used to put turmeric on wound which is the best option and various things which you informed were against Indian Army rules. Eg: to tie shoe lace in this manner
In the military, showers can often be several shower nozzles in a single shared open space, at least for men. I don't recommend letting loose your bladder in an open communal situation like that.
My best hack to prevent blisters: Leukosilk tape the areas where your shoes could cause issues. It’s tape made for use on your skin and the outside of the tape is slippery which allows the sock to glide against the tape instead of rubbing against your skin. It’s very useful when breaking in a new pair of shoes, and easy enough to carry a roll of the tape in any pocket or bag. Bit more skin friendly and not as military hack, but it saved my feet a lot some years ago, and I get blisters pretty easily
For the lacing of the boots, the first part is correct, but the rest is wrong. You lace them left over right all the way up for better comfort and support. After you tie them, tuck the rest inside your boots under the tongue to avoid them coming untied. Never double knot the laces because it can really ruin them.

@Angel Of A Thousand Sins k
Angel Of A Thousand Sins or you could bring a gauze pad lol
yes we did. no time to be a macho man.
Loved hearing Saint John NB being mention

it dosen’t snow where I live is that suppose to be happy that I won’t get like a broken ankle
Well you won't get a broken ankle from slipping on street made slippery by snowfall, but honestly, no kind of lacing will make you completely safe from hurting yourself when falling. It's better to learn to fall correctly and to not brace.
I can’t find one scenario where any of the hacks are useful or practical
Now Bright Side hacked Military personnel 😂
Now i think BrightSide has Hacked every thing

THE GREATEST CHANNEL OF ALL TIME 👌🏻🖤
Fresh grass clippings are great for using as bandage for wounds. Most types of grass have same biological properties as human plasma. Because of this, the clippings will stop bleeding and act as an antiseptic.
Hold up, did you see the mistake? "topv" on 2:12 I knew Bright Side Was In A Rush For Ad Revenue.

Super shiny soldier shoes xddd 🤣🤣🤙🏽
These do make my life easier
Most of the things are taught us in NCC and from past the indians were used to put turmeric on wound which is the best option and various things which you informed were against Indian Army rules. Eg: to tie shoe lace in this manner
I miss the other guys voice it was deeper and soothing
We dont need school anymore we can just watch youtube
6:39 do not let hotel housekeepers see this
In the military, showers can often be several shower nozzles in a single shared open space, at least for men. I don't recommend letting loose your bladder in an open communal situation like that.
super shiny shoes really made my life easier. Thanks
HERE'S JOHNY!
But putting duct tape that's not normal
Peeing in the shower is part of life.
...but cleaning your toe blisters in the toilet is not normal.
I enjoy peeing in the shower
The swimming pool showers disagree with you on that.
I'm definitely not in the military and I'm never gonna be so why tf am I here?
lol same
Don't worry sweetie, we don't use these in the military either. This coming from someone that has been in service.
@@DARTHxBRSTNITRX oh ok lol
Never say never 😌
These tips came in handy . This year so far.
Not here for the video....

What is wrong with me I see a man peeing himself and I'm like
"Well ok"
Thanks to this video I will start peeing on OTHER people's feet in the shower at my gym to help them resist athlete's foot. Black eye, here I come!
Lol
Military sleeve roles are awesome.
For the lacing of the boots, the first part is correct, but the rest is wrong. You lace them left over right all the way up for better comfort and support. After you tie them, tuck the rest inside your boots under the tongue to avoid them coming untied. Never double knot the laces because it can really ruin them.
