The warm tone from the black one...wunderbar.
I owned a late SB -64 a long time ago and remember it to be very warm in tone as well.
Searching for a new one these days, so thanks for this great comparison.

Klasse Präsentation von Thomas Blug. Er macht die feinen Unterschiede wirklich hör- und fühlbar. Kompliment.

I like the black one, because it has not these aggressive highs, but I must say that Ottos Stratocaster is really a good guitar!

Great playing & interesting comparisons of harmonic presence . Beautiful guitars .
Rosewood slab board on Strats is the way to go .
On the other hand I prefer Telecasters with a Maple neck .

Thank you for producing this video.
I have two Custom Shop 1964's and have been looking at vintage 1964's for about the past seven months. It's a hard decision and it would be a rare opportunity to be able to play multiple 1964's next to each other in order to compare and contrast.
For vintage, I think the decision would be which one is in the best condition and which one has the greatest likelihood of having the original components.

As usual Thomas plays extraordinary well - I enjoyed the "non-SRV" stuff most... I get the twangyness of the Otto guitar but I like the Black one most to be honest

It's really scary how vintage guitars from the same year or close matched serial number can sound different. I too prefer the Ottocaster

I prefer actually the black one…the warmth…..not ice picky at all…they all sound pretty damn good….Rosewood is getting harder to get..good rosewood…these have Brazilian…64…..which is out of question today….Indian rosewood now..but even that supply’s…are dwindling…

My second guitar was a 1964 that I bought barely used, in 1965. Gorgeous axe. But had the WORST overtones on the 5th and 6th strings at the 12th fret you ever heard. No matter what I did, I could not get rid of that racket!

As far as strats go the black one sounds less stratty, it's all a matter of taste and preference, some will prefer the black one, its all individual taste. Good video as usual!

Nice pedal board demo. How about letting us actually hear the GUITARS?

Were all the strings the same age on these guitars? If so, I personally like the black one, best.
