      In 2020,
Ccnp Enterprise for advanced routing and switching plus automation - python scripting
And in parallel will go for MCSA servers

After watching this I think that I am one of those that are very excited about it... I did the CCNA many years ago and was working towards recertification, but illness got in the way and I couldn't do it before the course changed, but now I'm thinking what a blessing because now I can look at the CCNP route and choose the flavour of professional that I want to be, what I'm interested in and that's so much more interesting than having to study something because that's what you have to do to get the qualification, I can be individual at the specialist level, but still have that core knowledge required... AWESOME!!!

Now with a change at work. We are switch from a 100% Cisco to 100% Meraki. I'm thinking of looking into their exams when they come out in the fall. After that then switch back to CCNP plans.

I absolutely love how passionate and enthusiastic you are for these technologies and topics. You inspire and invigorate me to build the mindset that it is possible. With hardwork, actual hard work it is all possible. With that being said i have to admit, I struggle with myself. Always feeling that i'll never be adequate enough. What i mean by that is, I get lost in a haze of the all encompassing world of these different technologies and certifications and paths to take... I'm ultimately hoping that the path im on now will lead to a job i love and can make a living from. It sometimes seems like just a pipe dream. But in the meantime, the present day I know that i just gotta stay focused. It all just seems so out of reach sometimes. i might've went a little deeper in this comment then i should have... but I thank you for your enthusiasm and passion; it helps so much.

I think once I have CCNP R&S out of the way (switch is done, route coming soon and hopefully tshoot shortly after) I think I may dive straight into the Firepower/Cisco ISE specialty exams. May swing over and do automation as well. Still not 100%. Lot of material to cover.

When the new CCNP test came out (current version in 2019) I crushed all 3 of them. I moved up fast to the engineer level. Fast forward 3 years later with much design, config and install experience. I failed the Switch test to recert. I studied my a$$ off. Clearly I know more about route-switch now with my advanced experience in the field.
Got a feeling it will be the case with the new test.
Testing is one thing. Actually installing in live production environment, with a makes sense logical manor are two different things.

Thanks, Chuck! Had the SWITCH exam down, couldn't get ROUTE out of the way before 2/23. Reviewing the CCNA before studying for ENCOR.
One of the problems I've had with studying is that there's frequently subject matter gaps between what's published (Cough, Cisco Press) as the "official certification guide", and what's on the test, and for some exams (Collaboration), what's on the test is a bunch of material that's out of date (old revs of software) or version specific, and just rote memorization of things that, outside of having one in production, you have no access to the menu tree.
Some of those just seemed to be schemes to have people attend Cisco classes at employer expense, which few of us can afford privately. Attempted the collab NA exam, once, and while the study material was mostly worth while, got disgusted at the exam's irrelevance to the skills necessary to do that role.
I'm hoping that, like the goals of the new CCNA, that bringing the exams back to relevancy is in the works.

Oh I found my best approach on Cisco’s “CCNP Routing & Switching Migration Tool” page... pass ROUTE 300-101 and SWITCH 300-115 before 2/24, then I can take ENAUTO 300-435 after 2/23 for the CCNP Enterprise plus the DevNet cert. That would take some of the heat off since I won’t need to take TSHOOT before 2/24.

I’ve had a CCNA and went to CCSP when they had it. All my stuff is expired and the exact reason I don’t get any more certifications is because I have to go back and get my CCNA. I’ve been a network engineer 15 years now so I really don’t need any certifications but I would like to get a CCNP at times but having to start over pretty much ruins it for me. This may help people in my situation but for newcomers I highly suggest getting the CCNA first.

Same here.. CCNA R&S cert'd at Cisco Live in San Diego 4yrs ago, failed the CCNP by skin of my teeth right before NA exp'd. Been in networking for 20+yrs and don't really need it so not re-certifying anymore. On top of that the exams are far too expensive anymore.

Trent McKee Trent McKee interesting. Sounds familiar. One thing that does interest me is the new CCNA stuff with programming and SDN or whatever. What do you think about that path and where things seem to be headed? I’ve been working in Azure and designed a pretty cool redundant VPN solution between or HQ and DR site and kinda playing with Python a little. Kind of interested in the API stuff but kinda lost on it all as a whole lol. What do you think about that side of things?

I did my ccna in 2013 I've been trying to get my ccnp my ccna expired but now I think all I need is the knowledge of the new one I wasn;'t able to do ccnp in since 2013 had some hard times but this is amazing now without a ccna I can do ccnp or just go straight for CCIE that is amazing I love it the only reason I can't go for ccie though unless a company pay for it. But this is nice I am going for the CCNP now since I am at home and studying since this covid situation gives me a chance to do it.

Totally in the same ball park for me. Had R&S CCNA for ages but now i`ll just read some notes on the changes on the CCNA but study and take the CCNP. Makes much more sense.

@@stephenparrott2932 You know what's funny? I said that but just ordered my new CCNA books that will be here tomorrow. The only reason is because the 2nd book has all the updated material leading into automation and all that stuff which I'd like to get a start on. Since the COR book for CCNP security is delayed apparently, figured go ahead and get the CCNA stuff. Company pays anyway.

my CCNA and CCNP expired in 2015. I was one of the people who did not rely on dumps having a Computer Science background. I was thinking of getting dumps and getting CCNP quickly again but I think that is cowards way. I am going to wait for the new revision. I started learning python a while ago to do some tasks myself.
Good luck everyone and if you are new in the field, I would totally recommend getting your CCNP quickly with the help of dumps.

When you said the CCNP is greater than a 4-year degree, you are probably right about that! I studied for seven months everyday for my CCNA and finally took the exam last night. I think the CCNA is equivalent to a 4-year degree. If not, it is equivalent to a 2-year associates degree. The amount of material in that is amazing! I can't wait to see what the CCNP is like. Do you need to get practical experience as a Cisco engineer first before getting a CCNP? Or I can study for it right now?

About the green screen when drawing - you can just use a black BG and select the "screen" blending mode when overlaying the videos. It's usually cleaner than chrome-keying because it relies on simple math with the absolute black.
Maybe you already changed it up since a year ago but I thought I'd drop this just in case ☺️

As the cloud computing is growing very fastly so Is being a network engineer or make career in networking (r&s) good in future. Is the networking has soo much scope as other it certification have.

Thank you for this video. I just completed listening to it. I would love to get my CCNP before the new certification kick in next year February 23rd however, I am still listening to David Bombal CCNA training video on GNS3 Academy based on your recommendation from the interview you did with Ernest. I have some questions:
    1. Is it possible to get CCNP before the end of February next year?
    2. I do not feel like buying the CCNP books as those would soon be outdated. What do you think?
    3. Should I get the CCNP R&S Labs that you have in the description?

Hi Chuck, thoroughly enjoyed your video. One thing I still would like to know, say I had the Cisco CCNA Routing&Switching training but haven't taken the exam yet, would I still need to take the CCNA Security if I choose to take CCNP Security in the future or could I already take it right now (of course after studying for it)?

CCNA R&S before February, then CCNP Security w/Automation sometime after, before CCNA expires. I've already got a developer background so the DevNet stuff is interesting, but I'm not sure yet about all of that.
