- 巨大クモ、横浜赤レンガ倉庫で大暴れ
横浜開港150周年記念プレイベントとして、４月17日、横浜赤レンガ倉庫で巨大クモ型ロボット「La Machine」ラ・マシンのパフォーマンスが繰り広げられた。
一応、ストーリー仕立てになっており、漂着した巨大クモが音楽で目覚め、興奮して大暴れ。雪で冷却して眠らせるというもの。
この日のイベントは、観客が集まりすぎると危険という判断で、ほとんど宣伝らしい宣伝をしなかった。
僅かな情報を頼りに集まった観客は、頭上を巨大な足が横切るなどの「安全第一」では考えられないパフォーマンスに大喜び。不思議な一体感に包まれた観客の間から、終了時には大きな拍手が湧き上がった。

I was slightly disappointed when I noticed the truck behind the spider, giving it support. For a moment I thought they had actually built a walking giant spider robot :(
We were the only ones to have it before this last year in liverpool, england, and she is so much more awesome in real life :o)

At first I thought it had humans captured in it's prison cage under it's abdomen!
Then I realized it's just camera people on a platform behind it. No prison cages yet. YET!

I think robot that size can't support it's own weight on those legs.
Look at spider and see how small they are, now look at elephant and see how squat they are
i used to have one of these. it was great for trips to the shop.. tho motorway use was not its strong point. in the end i had to give it up due to increasing fuel prices and repair costs.

the robot spiders were made in france... this is just them on show in asia
too bad it's just for show, you can see the boom lift holding it up in the air, and most of the time, a majority of the legs aren't anywhere near the ground to actually support it. I doubt this thing could carry it's own weight.

@dustydeadfairy In Guadalajara we had the luck to see these mechanical pupets, we dont saw the spider but we see the girl and the dog mechanical pupet
