    That is the most weird yet awesome machine. The way it jumped at the end like a deer or horse was amazing. Perhaps one use for this is to have several and set them in the woods or mountains when someone is lost, search the area, and carry medical supplies.

    can it react with things in the air as well as on the ground? for instance if I threw a baseball at it would it dodge out of the way?

    That might be useful to the military. I don't know how but I just had that idea. I wonder how it works. Is it finished completely or is it still being built? Those were some questions I had.

    I guess a whole bunch of research went into this development. I can see how it can be useful when it is refined and developed further. It could have real military advantages, and it could change rural search and rescue forever. Great stuff!

    @BadFlyingFish My point is that balance is vital to walking, running, jumping, and climbing. Balance comes before climbing. A baby, especially a blind one, would not be able to crawl, much less climb stairs without proper balance. No matter how long it took creatures to gain a sense of balance, it took even longer for them to climb with their limbs.

    @Semlohwerd i agree-- its amazing technology but cant begin to compare to a simple 4 or 6 wheeled vehicle.
    also all those sensors and mechanics are bound to fail sooner or later and the whole thing is useless. there very little that can go wrong with a wheeled vehicle.

    Wow that's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Just think of what can be done with things like this.

  • @jdjanssen
    @jdjanssen 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @BadFlyingFish Yes, the ability to recover from the kick is indicative of a high level of speed/balance. But I don’t think it’s quite as excessive as you do. Its feet also function as its "sight". So recovering balance on a flat surface, is just a matter of speed of movement. Climbing anything of any size requires a different type of balance. Even small rocks made it stumble. And really, it had no “trouble” climbing the brick pile without stumbling, it was just taking slow, high steps.

    1:24 классно обученная нейросеть, отрабатывает как живой сложности преодолевая, надо:
    1)выдвигающиеся коготочки ног для гололёда
    2)буферизировать получше энергопоток, чтоб стабильнее были обороты мотора(безогенератор ДВС тут питает вподе бы, надо добавить йонисторов, чтоб режим номинальной нагрузки на моторе не флуктуировал) , одно дело звук бензогенератора, другое дело эффект назойливой мухи или газонокосильщика, терпеть его тяжелее...
    может даже миниатюрный турбовальный электрогенератор под него возможно разработать было бы? повысив обороты можно и габариты генератора(династартера по совместительству, заводится в идеале должен йонисторы заряжая в любой ситуации (днём по крайней мере),солнечной батареей раскладной при стоянке раскрывающейся ) существенно сократить(смотри моторы квадракоптеров на киловатт, и веломоторколёса тойже мощности-разница в оборотах, заменяющих удвоением(оборотов) более громоздкое и труднодостимое в электрических обратимых машинах(мотор-генераторы) удвоение тяги(силы, крутящего момента), либо роторно-поршневой(наверно неэкономичен будет) либо экономично - линейный ДВС типа одноциллиндровый сколькото поршневой и пушпульный(тогда надо две трубы для балланса) либо "боксёр", без ненужного промежуточного вращающегося вала, покуда генератор Фарадея мы пока не изобрели практичный, который вращение ртути в магнитном поле например, с электрическим постоянным током конвертирует обратимо...
    из банального - толи хонда толи сузуки делали бензогенератор компактный 5кгвесом 500вт мощи непрерывной, в рюкзаке умещался, и тихим был, работая на стабильных оборотах с резонансно настроенными (и потому эффективными в конкретном режиме оборотов и расода) системами впуска и выхлопа, потому тихий был

    @BadFlyingFish This is a machine. It has no optics. Balance is a far more basic part(priority) of walking than being able to blindly climb uneven terrain. In fact blindly climbing uneven terrain without a good balancing ability wouldn't be possible. You have to be able to walk before you run...or climb.
