I'm more of a death / slam guy but I dig this. I've never heard of them before, they bring those big doomy riffs I can't get enough of and the vocalist is a complete bad ass.

Checkout their song The Adorned Fathomless Creation, has a bit of a death metal vibe at times.

This song was incredible. That's totally Cammie doing the growls. At first, I just assumed it was one of the other band members, like in previous songs. But I looked at their Band Camp page for the song where they say it's her doing them! Wow. This is very new, at least for her in this band. Maybe it was partially motivated after the previous harsh vocalist left the band? I'm super impressed as a fan. I hope to hear more.

I'm pretty sure she's done harsh vocals in past albums, just in unison with the others...see The Adorned Fathomless Creation video.

@@themetalpig7613 maybe. But in the past, there was one guy who did the main harsh vocals (who left), and another guy who might still be in the band who does backing vocals in this song.
If she has done harsh vocals before, it hasn't been anywhere near as prominent as this. But it's cool to know. There IS a TH-cam short of her which about her "recording the most extreme vocals she's ever done". So I think that for all intents and purposes, it's s a new thing.

This band is truly unique. Proggy, heavy instrumentals with tons of groove. Soulful, bluesy, vocals from Cammie and those tasty, gutteral lows! And... really really clever innovative lyrics and composition. I'd ask why they aren't far bigger but its because they're a LOT. However I've been told, and know from artists I'm acquainted with they are very much respected by their fellow artists. I'm a fanboy. Sue me. Great reaction!

Wait holy crap, I had no idea it was Cammie doing the harsh vocals. I found these guys about a year ago when The Charismatic Voice did a video, and I liked the mix of Cammie's powerful soulful voice with their doom/prog metal instrumentals. But I wondered if she could do harsh vocals if some of the guys doing them ever left the band. I've listened to this song a few times without seeing the video and had no idea she was the one growling in this song. Sick.

I love this band so much, heavy, melodic and pretty unique sounding. For some bands I love a mix of distored and clean vocals, there's a band called Vintersea who's singer is amazing at both styles, you really should check out their song Befallen if you like this.

Love when you do a band that I’ve never heard of and they turn out to be awesome, I’ll be checking out more of this band.
Check out Monochromatic Black for an amazing female vocalist with growls to rival that of Tatiana!

Amazing cool masterpiece! As I am Dutch: amazing Dutch bands to watch are Blackbriar, Delain, Charlotte Wessels (ex-Delain singer), The Gathering, Anneke van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering singer), Within Temptation. And amazing German band 'Snow White Blood' !

Well, I liked this one quite a bit. The slight soul aspect in the vocals does have something to add to their originality.
Very solid, instrumentally, and I kind of like the songwriting. I might consider listening to an album because of what I just heard. Which is quite a compliment.
Nothing I may normally really rave about - but also certainly a good portion above average for sure. It is not as generic as most stuff in these styles.
And yes, I definitely love to see more ethnical and sex diversity in all metal genres, always did. So metal gets rid of its "white guys in leather jackets" image. Which it pretty much has, as long as we still have to mention people of color, asian and female musicians and vocalists, as if it would be something special. It's getting better, and more diverse audiences get interested in modern metal variants, maybe because it got more radioplay, and therefore, it might be easier to also interest more diverse musicians to get into it.
Heck, there even are trans-only black metal bands, it is just not at all common.
It always has been only the few stupid intolerant and racist artists ruining it for the rest (yes, I once was a great Pantera fan, but would not visit their reboot concerts) and at least in this century, the audiences got more mixed, because metal/core got more mainstream.
Just a few thoughts, that may be mostly unrelated to this special band, but I just had to think about it, because I noticed a few black female vocalists, mostly in much lesser known bands, in all metal genres, from more traditional doom and black metal up to modern metal/core. And we don't have to talk about, how fantastic some Japanese bands are, and not only this babymetal-like stuff, but also some really great death and metalcore bands. Other countries rarely show up on any playlists, but I guess more Indian, Indonesian or African bands might come to our consciousness sooner or later (not just Voice of Baceprot or Bloodywood). I mean, we even have FRENCH metal bands. (Yes, that's a joke).
Best regards, as always, my dear Scottish dudette!❤

This reminds me of Vintersea, they also have a female singer who does cleans and growls, and they also have very proggy epic music. Their last album whipped ass, if it weren't for Tomb Mold it would have been my favorite album of last year.

I’ve been trying very hard to get into this band. But I’m not a big fan of harsh vocals and blast beats. But you’re right, her voice is amazing. And I love female voices in metal. My favorite is the band Nightwish. If you haven’t checked out their singer Floor Jansen yet, you should give her a listen. Her voice really is one of a kind.

You might enjoy some of the other tracks by this band, cause they don't always have either of those! Though blast beats a bit more often cause the drummer is a big part of the songwriting and he's a death metal drummer 😂
I'd recommend The Banished Heart, This Road, A Return to the Earth Below, The Colours of Grace, The Water Rising, Hearts of Stone, or A Path to Broken Stars

Thanks, i’ll have to dig a little deeper. I really do like their sound.

  • @sVieira151
    @sVieira151 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

One thing I really enjoy about Cammie's voice is it's a bit deeper/lower than a lot of the female vocals you get in metal, when they tend to often have a more airy, poppy, or angelic (or operatic) vocals. This bands previous album was weird for them and it was barely metal at all - they called it 'New Southern Gothic' which I think is a great descriptor of the sound. She definitely doesn't try to 'show off' her voice a lot - but it's very controlled and smooth.
As for the harshes - I mentioned on Patreon, but I was shocked when I heard this song for the first time because I didn't see any of the guys vocalising in the video, and it turns out that she has been practicing and this was the first time she's done the lead harsh vocals for the band! They used to have a couple of the other members do harshes but I think they moved on from the band a couple of albums ago. I was shocked at how deep and old school death metal the harshes were - it's different to Tatiana or some of the more modern harsh vocalists, even Will Ramos, who have a harsh sound that 'cuts through' and is more direct, whereas Cammie's sounds very rumbly and I thought it gave those sections in the song real heft.
Glad you enjoyed it! You'll definitely be getting another like Impierial Triumphant... but I'll just keep you on your toes 😜

Not sure if it's the correct term or if it's a westernisation, but as far as I'm aware it's called 'shibari', which is a form of rope bondage often used as performance art - from what I hear requires quite a bit of skill to suspend a person off the ground with perfect balance and without pain from the bonds.

demographics wise, as far as i'm aware, metal is still pretty dominated by white dudes, dark skinned metal musicians, female musicians, and especially dark skinned female musicians are more rare. to say nothing of "that's good actually!" or "that's terrible! why are there so many white dudes?!" ofc, you'll get neither from me. these are just the demographics of the genre as far as i'm aware. and that's not to say they aren't out there, they're just not as common.
don't have anything to tell ya about the band as i've not heard of them before, like what i'm hearing.
