Truely stunning work on this project! Fantastic build! How long did it take to build this? I don't remember if you mentioned. I have aspirations building one of these for a diorama of the scene where the Enterprise is rising from the ocean in the "In To Darkness" movie. I'm thinking I would have to mount it on the left side since about 2/3rds of the model would be submerged in water (epoxy resin).
My mind just melted! Unbelievable job!
This model is difficult to build! Kudos to you sir! So far I built this twice and am going to try a 3rd time!
Just gorgeous Neil!! Outstanding work!!
Excelent work !!
Absolutely beautiful work man!

If I remember correctly, it took around three months. It’s hard to tell exactly because I had to stop for a while waiting on the lighting kit.
Thats one amazing model!
LOOKS AWESOME!
Where did you get the light kit from again
So how much did this cost to get the model and the lights?
The model was about $125 US. I’m not sure of current prices - this was a few years ago. The lighting was a custom kit and was around $350.
Looks great!!!!How many hours?????
I don’t keep track of hours. The whole process - not counting the wait for the custom lighting kit to be built - was about five months.
is the lighting kit for sale?
It was a custom build by SFX Modeling Solutions. You can check with them to see if it’s available to the everyone yet.
