GROUNDED - Infected Wolf Spider Attack Pattern

Note that even though this insect seems difficult to kill, it's just a quick version of a Wolf Spider.
If you know a better way to deal with the Jump Attack please let me know!🙏

Notice to all players. the infected wolf spider has 2 unblockable attacks when he jumps and pounces, and when he does the 3 hit combo. you can’t block either of those 2 attacks. your best bet is wearing your best armour, suggestion: Roly Poly or at minimum Ladybug, also if you see the IW about to go for the explosion attacks, I suggest equipping a shield as it will tank the bites. Besides that… count your days.

U actually can use a flower or something on the map to evade the jump cuz it gets stuck in middle air

The AOE attacks are such bullhockeypoopy. When the host is lagging, the combo attacks are impossible to block.

try natural explorer when you first start the fight because the mutation only disables once you actually hit the spider or parry it

kudos to the devs. the attack pattern is so cool including multiple movements include fake moves that can you scare you and block too early

You know even though you can't parry the landmine, you can just run away if you are fast enough

That's kinda cheap of them to give it an unavoidable attack when you spent time memorizing their movement.

It is really annoying on Woah mode. The jump attack almost oneshots you even when you wear level 9 t3 armor. The fungal charm works wonders. It reduces the damage big enough to only loose 50% health instead. That makes the fight bearable. Before i found that charm I avoided to fight the Infected Wolf Spider under any circumstances. Glad to see I am not the only one who couldnt figure out how to deal with that attack

@@pcdeltalink036 The explosive resist of the gas mask stacks with the charm, yes. But the low defense of the gasmask hurts you. So for me, just using my regular sleek fire ant armor(which works the best for me on woah) + the fungal charm was fine and the gas mask didnt make much of a difference.

The fungal charm trinket is the only way to avoid death from that jump attack. As it reduces explosive damage by 75% But with a 1% chance of dropping. It's why I haven't plugged the haze yet aha

The jump attack itself can be blocked for reduced damage, but will always explode, i think its the same with the three bite attack too

If you use the new blademaster mutation combined with the fungal charm the explosion damages is almost non existent. I wear koifish armor and it does like 1/35th of damage to me either with its jump explosions or 3 hit explosion combo.

Yay now i know its not me just being a total idiot not knowing what to do with that jump! And btw the third hit in the combo seems to be able to hit if ur too close, has happened a few times on the normal wolfspider too

Yes I've corrected it on the description of my wolf spider video, but I always forget that it's actually a hit so I usually just don't parry it and stay at a good distance

They should have done Infected Stink bugs… they should have dropped gas sacks that make insects around the map attack other bugs… kinda like some crazy gas or sum.. I was also looking for infected Aphids as well as infect Bombardier beetles but nothing ..

You never mentioned the three attack explosion combo it does. Can't block, parry, or dodge it, it does massive damage AND poisons. As far as I know it's an unsurvivable instant kill.

@@caraph if im going to be honest I was looking at the channel home instead of all your vids but thanks for the help I've never been able to get the speed change between spiders its easy with the wolf spider then half speed with the brood mother then probably more than bouble speed with the window appreciate the help

The jump attack is actually easier than it looks. It's too hard to explain, but I know how to parry every single Wolf Spider attack. You kinda have to just parry right when it lands. I know this is irrelevent, but I've defeated a whole Black Ox Beetle (No cheats/glitches) with only a Red Ant Club, Red Ant, Armor, and no healing/regeneration items. You just have to know when to block.
Edit: The comments are saying it's unblockable, so Idk. But I can block a normal Wolf Spider without getting hit. Just takes practice.

Yes indeed the normal wolf spider jump attack is blockable, the problem with the infected one is the explosion that comes with it, and it's made to be unblockable
