I had an aneurysm trying to fight this dude, and when I finally managed to kill one, he didn’t even drop any venom, so I couldn’t dupe the resources and was forced to kill another.

The jump attack itself can be blocked for reduced damage, but will always explode, i think its the same with the three bite attack too

The fungal charm trinket is the only way to avoid death from that jump attack. As it reduces explosive damage by 75% But with a 1% chance of dropping. It's why I haven't plugged the haze yet aha

How can you tell the ground shed and combo attack apart before they happen?

it only make you scary when you are new player without armor and good weapon, but when you learn all hit attack with perfect block, is will be ez than you think(not with hard mode)

If ur good at parrying ladybugs this will feel easier

The side attack tip is unreliable since it’s too fast and u won’t have time to see it’s fangs stop moving, and since it’s attacks r faster then ow’s and ws’s attacks you have to block at an earlier position they the black widow makes to counter it’s improved speed, so for the side bite just block as soon as u can identify the move, and for the front bite block as soon as it finishes roaring.

I keep forgetting the third combo bite is a fake but it’s just muscle memory to parry it anyway

This important if you plan on fighting the black widow too

Im having a hard time figuring out the cue for the combo attack so i know how to block, like orb weavers shake their butt right before they combo but the wolf spider combo looks so similar to the side attack when it starts:(

Unblockable or unparrable lunges are stuupiiid

Pro Tip: you can perfect block the boulder throw if you have a shield equipped. This also applies to other projectiles that bugs emit. (Wasp stingers, bombardier beetle acid, firefly acid, etc.)

The hardest part for me is missing the visual and audio cues due to the enemy flinching and yelping from me hitting them. Like I can sit in front of them and just parry with complete concentration, but they’re never going to die that way.

The jump attack is actually easier than it looks. It's too hard to explain, but I know how to parry every single Wolf Spider attack. You kinda have to just parry right when it lands. I know this is irrelevent, but I've defeated a whole Black Ox Beetle (No cheats/glitches) with only a Red Ant Club, Red Ant, Armor, and no healing/regeneration items. You just have to know when to block. Edit: The comments are saying it's unblockable, so Idk. But I can block a normal Wolf Spider without getting hit. Just takes practice.

About wasp drone, I am first killing normal wasps from long range (anger them from bow from long range and attack with melle) and after just go under wasps drones and if need I just block the poison, so easy

If you use the new blademaster mutation combined with the fungal charm the explosion damages is almost non existent. I wear koifish armor and it does like 1/35th of damage to me either with its jump explosions or 3 hit explosion combo.

Don't fight it. Get up high and rain fire down on it. That fire staff is legendary
