      Did you just correct my pronunciation and then call me "Dude"? Oh the irony...

    looks good. I guess something could be done about there not being enough weight to climb up.

      Right now I'll stick with the ladder but I may get the "outrigger" wheels in the future. That should stabilize it enough.
      Cheers!

    Good investment Rob. We have Harbor Freight here in the states and I ended up getting two sets 4-5 years ago. I have only used them 10-12 times as scaffolding but I don't take them down ever. I used some planks to make additional shelves so they become roll around shelves in my shop.

    Much easier to attach one arm to both ends, then set the second arm. Rather than putting both arms in

    you can climb up through from the inside opening the trap door

      Because you couldn't climb up the side of the lightweight scaffold they have modified the new versions to include a trap door so you can safely climb the scaffold. The older version was a flat top as shown in the video. There are thousands of the older versions still available in the marketplace today. (brand new in stock) Now that said, I'm sure they will be discounting those older models for anyone looking for a deal. Thanks for your comment!
      Cheers!

    I just priced these here in PA to rent. it was $25/day, $75/week. Im needing two sets for a project, which would be about what you paid for one. Im thinking of just buying them, so I wont have to rush anything.

      Yes that’s a good idea. After you are done you could keep them ore sell 1 or both. I have been thinking of getting another one. Good luck with your project!

    What you are calling "outriggers" you do not show their benefit. The LRMSO4 increases the stability of the scaffold by providing a larger footing. Would have liked to see the accessory to plug in stationary pods as an option to locking wheels.

    • @robsgaragewoodworkin
      @robsgaragewoodworkin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The outriggers and other options were not available at the stores but were listed as accessories in the documentation that came with the scaffold. They extend the foot print of the base of the scaffold to make it more stable. It's a great design so you can use in on stairs but that design also makes it shaky. It's also lightweight and narrow so you can't climb up the sides without it falling on you. Here is the link to their website: www.metaltech.co/products/jobsite-series-6-baker/

      @@robsgaragewoodworkin Agree, however with the outriggers, stability is better maximized, therefore presenting that accessory as a solution for that "con" would have been better.

    Good video. Metaltech is cheap, lightweight. Home Depot - Made in China grade. Bil-Jax and Werner are for pros. Metaltech is inexpensive, OK for DIY home projects. False advertising for Metaltech to call this "contractor grade". It is not.

    • @robsgaragewoodworkin
      @robsgaragewoodworkin  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah its a great product but I would say it's best suited to DIY. It's a good "in house" scaffold.

    Is it possible to trim a cedar hedge with this scaffold? Maybe if the wheels are removed? thank you

    • @robsgaragewoodworkin
      @robsgaragewoodworkin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use it almost anywhere as long as it has stable footing. Good Luck with your hedge!

    I really liked the video but the audio is very low with you being away from the camera. Fix that on the next video and it will be excellent!

    All you need to do is make a pair of X braces for each side and that will sturdy it right up!

    Great review, lookin to buy one, did you get the deck with the trap door? The one I'm looking at is from Costco Canada, 279$ with the trap door, delivered.

    • @robsgaragewoodworkin
      @robsgaragewoodworkin  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I bought it from Home Depot. I just looked up the trap door version. That's hilarious! You can't climb onto it from the outside because it will tip over. Looks like they solved the problem! Thanks for your comment!

      They have it on the homedepot.ca website. Not all Home Depot stores carry the same products. I have seen scaffolding in all the home improvement stores though - maybe try another home improvement store. Here is a link. Good Luck on your search!

    • @robsgaragewoodworkin
      @robsgaragewoodworkin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right. I watched the video again and somehow I missed that and I fully intended to talk about it. It's partially the design that allows you to offset the frames so you can work on stairs that causes the play. To reduce play you can remove the wheels (they add a lot of play) but obviously you will often want to move it around so that's not always an option. Thanks for your comment!
      Cheers!

      Actually I bang the c member or side members closer and it helps a lot so people take a rubber mallet have one end to the floor and bang on the other side until it starts to close do this evenly then reattach now to do this right have it erected without the floor panel on pull one of the side members off and may want second person holding the other end of the member you just removed so it doesn't sag.

      Lol. I have to make an x brace for this stupid thing or if some 2x4s

  • @russveinot5754
    @russveinot5754 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    you really only need the wheel kit. the safety rails and other things, just make yourself as needed (out of 2x4's). as to getting on and off, you need to stay in the center and go over the top rail. I have used that scaffold many times and I made an extension handle for one corner to grab a hold of to get over the top rail. it does take a little practice (and nerve) to swing your leg over the top. after a couple of practice climbs, you get use to it. if I am going to get on and off a lot I use a step ladder. maybe you can make a drill powered wheel to steer and move around :>) . . . maybe we should leave that to the experts (like Izzy and Matthias). great idea for a video.

    • @robsgaragewoodworkin
      @robsgaragewoodworkin  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL! Drill powered wheel eh! Well that would be something! I thought about climbing over the top centre but I'd rather not risk it. I like the "outrigger" wheel set. I may have to get that. Then I should feel more secure and climbing up the scaffold should be fine.
      Cheers!

      I'm planning on buying two of these type this week, Home Depot has got them on sale for $169 each. Outriggers are $80 more, I'm gonna stack
      them to 12 feet.. I've seen a few videos where they put a trap door in the platform floor for easy climbing, It looks like it works great.. For guard rails I'm gonna use black pipe and slide it over the top of the uprights, i figure a cable, chain or tow strap between the pipes with quick clip ends will be good for a safety rail.. I like this type of scaffolding, I don't need to go any higher than 12 feet.. This looks easy enough to move around, I can't wait.. :) Nice Video..
