Technical issue is common. Some can be fixed immediately and some need a very long time. Aircraft need to be fully safe before it’s released for flight. But… it’s Air India’s responsibility on handling such situation. They could have sent a replacement aircraft after all it’s just 1.5 hours flight. If they couldn’t do that due to aircraft utilisation, they could have declared flight cancellation and arranged accommodation for the passengers or they could have arranged alternate flight. There are few other flights and airlines operating Colombo to Chennai route. Doing none of this is reflecting how Air India cares for its passengers. They need to realise it’s not always about money but reputation. The management simply didn’t want to take the responsibility and in right decision making. Simply because scared of being questioned from higher management. All they worry is cost. 🤦🏽♂️

The experience flying Air India has deteriorated so much since the TATA takeover that I am also not flying Air India again at least not until for the next 5 years at least.....Tata being a private owner has dug AI to the ground. They are not spending a single dollar to fix the terribly broken flights between the US and India even after 2 years of takeover. They are shamelessly waiting for the new plans to arrive until late 2024. In the meantime they are exposing travelers to broken seats, no in flight entertainment, and horrible food service year after year. This is the worst strategy ever. All these people that are giving benefit to Tata saying it will take time are all domestic flyers. Flying 16 hours in a broken and dilapidated plane since the last 2+ years and continuing to do so until late 2024 is simply pathetic and unacceptable. At least under the Indian Government they were spending some money on fixing broken plans and doing some repairs.. Under Tata they are so cheap that seats that are completely broken are falling apart are also not being fixed. Shame on Air India and Tata sons.

Everyone were facing this kind of issues so kindly dont blame the country.
Guys, in the Western world, if this happens, the fine is $5000. I paid $5000 infringement, leaving my dog in the car here in San Jose. I suggest you take legal action against Srilankan airport authority. Do not complain about the checking it is security that they have the rights. But airport authorities are liable for leaving you guys in a locked bus because it is in their control, and they failed in the duty of care.
