I have found some Sideways cars need a lot of preparation to get them running well.
Unusual considering the Slot It parts and approach they take.

I was going to mention they use slotit motors but I wasn't 100% sure they still did

@@thatslotcarguy not a slot it motor in this one but standard yellow flat six angle winder in the older ones I have. Slot It gears and wheels seem to be a big plus.

Yeah I didn't think this was the slotit motor, it almost caught me out 🤣🤣

Another great review. Thanks. I found the braids on my Sideways Lamborghini were very shiny & had power supply problems on the Carrera track we race on. I found that roughing/ freying them up with a wire brush helped fix the issue. The gear ratio is 11/28.

It's a nice enough looking BMW M6 you have got there Travis and it certainly does seems to run well OOB :). I have a Carrera BMW M6 and in Team Falken livery. I suspect the detailed quality to the finish on mine notches up against this? Mine does have full lights and digital capabilities to boot and this with the trade off against it being a heavier car. However, I'd certainly go with the Sideways model over trying to 'NSRify' a Carrera with an AW motor mount on a compatible new chassis. Aside from what you say about the braids I feel the wheel vents as 'decals' really let the Jagermeister down. Mine does not have these albeit the Carrera M4 and Audi A5 models do have moulded extrusions - not 'vents' in the true sense or meaning of the word - which for my money appear as more 'aesthetically pleasing' evocations. As always, a great review in your now accustomed style and format.

Appreciate the feedback back and comparison of cars mate.
In regards to the new camera angles should they stay or go back to the original filming style

@@thatslotcarguy I very much appreciate your new 'bird's nest' view - let's face it - the device has got good company with your uniquely Aussie 'spring time' sub-tropical cacophony - lol! This angle better helps the viewer calibrate acceleration, braking and cornering on a model as well as showing just how reckless, die hard and last of the late brakers (or not) you happenstance yourself to be as a 'racer'! The drop in resolution from this angle is more than compensated by your splendid descriptive narratives and tear downs. I took delivery of my Oscar Kovelaski 'Thunderslot' McLaren M6B last evening and whilst what we see with you is what we get it is important to note that your close ups properly 'magnify' a model on a laptop screen - just fine when, like me, you start to need reading glasses or a magnifier to best appreciate the finer details when up close and persona with a model :). Overall, you are up there with the best of the rest for when it comes to slot car You Tube videos and the environment would most certainly be a lesser place without your unique and charming presence.

Stunning looking car, I have 2 Sideways Lambo's and they run fine on my Scalextric track... Maybe it's the slot width on the Carrera track?
Thank's again for a Great Honest Review.

@@thatslotcarguy hello friend, thanks for all your good videos. just to say that braids must be, and adjusted, diferent for each brand/kind of track. Sideways braids are my fav now but in my bad old scalextric+scx track which is really demanding. Obvious there's much more better (thinner) braids for club tracks.

In my experience, even the slightest amount of dust on my track makes the car's handle poorly, so I use an old fashion string mop, wet it down, squeeze all the water out of it till it is just slightly damp. with the long handle, you can reach everywhere, it gets in all the tight spots, you are able to scrub if necessary. just use water only. shut off the power before you start. only takes a few minutes.
