I'm originally from Bay Ridge, but was raised in Sunset Park. It's changed so much! Glad to see it's being recognized❤

Great video, Manny. I remember a walk many years ago that I did, from Bay Ridge, through Bensonhurst, then over to Sunset Park, all the way through the Latino shopping area, then through Park Slope, then over the Brooklyn Bridge and up to my hotel in Stuyvesant Square. The first part of your video, through the Latin part, took me back to that day. I was really tired and slept well that night! Now I’m almost 78 and the legs can’t do that anymore, so enjoy it while you can Manny!

Enjoying watching from Essex in the U.K. Some shops look very similar to those in East London. I'm hungry now!!😋

Great video and neighborhood. When did Ricans become African? Wasn’t there a dna test done years ago that determined the Mother of Puerto Rico is Taino? Black people are indigenous to the Americas and her Islas. There is nothing wrong with black indigenous Americans and Caribbean people. Even black Americans don’t have West African phenotype. People are not blind.

Well I don't know what DNA your talking about, but if you look up bomba and plena music videos you will see our African culture. Places like Ponce, Loiza and Piñones are mostly African Puerto Rican. But they are all over the island and in most families. Am white as a ghost and have relatives with a Haitian background. African slaves were introduced to the island of PR since 1513 ,enslaved by the Spaniards.

Yes there was a DNA years ago if not 20 years ago that proved the Mother of the Puerto Rican people is a Taino woman. Please stop using skin color to determine race. There are blacks native to the South Pacific (Melanesians) who are not African. They are indigenous to that land and are not African. Also, linguistically speaking Rican Spanish has mostly Taino words. There is no trace to West Africa. I have never meant a person from Africa claiming Puerto Ricans as their own.
