    Everything you said was 100% spot on.
    1. Cool environment
    2. Keep your shoes away from light. Light can also cause some materials to fade
    3. Make sure shoes are getting a balance between moisture and air. Silica packets just dry out the midsoles and too much moisture can cause the midsoles to deteriorate as well
    4. Make sure you wear your sneakers every once in a while, or at least try them on and wear them around the house so they get used to the pressure.
    Editing is getting better too. Keep it up, DJ!

    Should put a disclaimer that the good tips you gave only work in a location with the same climate as yours. I live in a very humid country, year-round 75-80% humidity and temperatures of 29-32° Celsius / 84-90°F. Them silica gel packs are a must to absorb the extra moisture from the humid weather.

    • @codygameing4729
      @codygameing4729 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well if yellowing is cause by oxidation theoretically wrapping them and cutting off O2 can potentially slow that process down significantly.

    • @DexterHeisenbergBruh
      @DexterHeisenbergBruh ปีที่แล้ว +4

      From what I understand, oxidation (exposure to air) causes yellowing. If you prevent contact with oxygen (such as wrapping) it slows or prevents yellowing. But the problem is, if a shoe does not get enough oxygen, it dries out faster and can crumble. So the best method is trying to be balanced.

    Silica gel helps keep moisture down not completely out of the box and it is good to have them to prevent moisture which we all know is the breeding ground for fungus and bacteria + bad odor especially on used shoes. I'd say air them out ones a month if you wear them and do not close the holes let the shoes breathe, i had no dust issues and if there was? probably 5%....Until someone can prove that Silica Gel deteriorates the shoes i'd keep one at least for your health.

    Very new to the collection game! This is a question for anyone who can help but DJ; if you have an opinion pls, jump in and help! What's everyone's opinion on using a Baby Wipe to clean your sneakers at the end of the day after each wear? Should I be using a Sneaker Wipe specifically, or is a Baby Wipe Fine?

    You said don't use silica gels, but it doesn't work in tropics. I live in Thailand, if I don't use silica, the mold will eat everything I own.

    • @Kordan03
      @Kordan03 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol It'd basically u want a midsole that doesn't crumble or u wanna keep them icy. I personally don't put my shoes in nun since shoes don't yellow till at least 2-3 years without wear and at that point it's very minimal

    I’ve got a huge question , my shoes I keep them in box up top in my closet it’s not the coolest or the hottest I’d say ever age idk 75-82 degrees maybe and I do not wear the shoes often. It’s every cool minutes “ mainly talking about 5s and 11s” if they start to get squishy what should I do or is that normal. I’ve asked a couple of og sneaker heads that said completely normal that’s how they come actually. Any advice ? Please let me know. Thank you boss.

    • @DNASHOW
      @DNASHOW  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea if look to find a bit cooler place to store them but the midsole should have done give yo it. Just as long as the fail isn’t cracking or the glue is separating you’re good.

    • @mattwood854
      @mattwood854 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      DNA SHOW oh yes . No cracking just the squishy I thought but like I asked a lot of ppl they said it’s normal 100% they come like that . And since you don’t ware a lot they will feel like that until you wear.
