They failed both tests this year against Melbourne, despite winning key statistics and Collingwood, emphatically destroyed after quarter time. It is inarguably that they lack strong leadership, little to no depth, mental fragility, an overrated midfield and one of the worst defence. Port won’t achieve anything if they make the finals this year, which has been a reoccurring theme since Hinkley’s appointment. With personnel issues and incompetent coaching at the helm, they will continue to be a middling team at best.
If they win a flag or make a Grand Final, then of course Ken stays. Real interesting thing will be if they make preliminary final weekend and are competitive, will they be ruthless enough to sack him, with a year left to run on his contract, in that hypothetical.
