My Dad ran the Canadian Kenworth plant in Burnaby, right next to Vancouver in the 60's and I saw lots of Kenworths built, but a few times, he took me to the smaller Hayes plant on 2nd ave in Vancouver and it was great to see both plants and truck brands built.
Thanks for posting this. I worked at Hayes when Mack was running it. I remember finding the drawings for that integral sleeper cab and I believe only 3 were ever built. I saw 2 in Vancouver at Midland Superior and Berg's Trucking. A very rare truck.
Nice video. I’ve met these guys in Port Alberni BC logging. This father and son bleed true West Coast BC logging. Well done guys, I’m glad you made the run down to Reno. About time we get B.C. iron into USA. Excellent work. These two are the real deal.
Ross & James sure Have The W O W Factor setting in that Show ! Had the pleasure of riding Shot-Gun with my Cousin who runs a 1956 Pacific on the West Coast, Hairy Ride It Was 1 Thanks Chris ! ATB T God Bless
Those old Cummins engines sound great. That ones a really old one. Got this old Kenworth sitting in the bushes at the yard of the company I work at. It’s rusty but it’s all there in one piece. It’s got that 275 Cummins Motor and I think the truck is a 1951. We started it up a couple times and it sounds badass and is real loud. We might take it out of the bushes and pull it into the shop and make it into a vintage tow truck with a Holmes wrecker body or something. We do want to make it into a cool truck.
Sooty Mangabey I know. The truck is a 49 Kenworth actually think 250 cummins. Super LOUD! Sounds so good. We took the truck to the yard and it’s been sitting in the way back for years. We are now doing something with it finally. It’s sitting with a heavy duty Holmes wrecker body on it. Has straight pipes. It almost ready. Really cool old truck I enjoy it.
Can any one tell me why pacific used the yellow with a green hood paint design, was that just pacific's color way or was it intentional for visibility when logging as only pacific's seem to have the green hood?
Really great video! I love those old Pacific and Hayes trucks. There a few videos on youtube about the last Pacific ever built (1995)...if you search that you will find 3-4 videos about it...a Pacific P-12, this trucks much bigger brother with, iirc, a 3412 CAT...here's a link where they rip the thing around the streets somewhere in BC Canada for a test drive shortly after it was built..... th-cam.com/video/5dLgZwcWe8Q/w-d-xo.html&t=
