@@callisto537 Somethings wrong with the P12 though in the game. It's wheels binds up to easily and the truck quickly just gives up completely trying to haul a load up any type of hill. I use it with the maintenance body add-on and it just barely got enough power to manage that. With a trailer it's straight up awful.
@@reidthompson8979 The P16 tirs does have special stats, they aren't the normal set of OHD I. That said I wouldn't say the P16 is better then a AWD truck. The front tires are still dead weight and sink into mud, needing to be pushed though. The P16 Special OHD I tires makes it balanced. It's capable offroad, though not the best.
Damm, Pacific sure brings back many memories from my childhood. My late father was the lead driver for many years, driviing those huge red Pacific Trucks in the old SAS&H (South Africa). They were moving massive transformers and stators from Richardsbay to the highveld region, where most of South Africa's new Power stations was being built at that time. The Pacific Trucks that was built for the South African Railway was not yellow but a dark red colour. I will bet a million dollars that the driver of that lead Red Pacific Truck at 08:52, was none other than my late Father. When they were moving in a large convoy they always drew hundreds of spectators, who came to see these behemoths moving at a slow speed. 👍👍

I think the Pacific truck were some of the most beautiful trucks ever built! Large in every way, powerful in every way able to work exactly like they were built to able to take the punishment of every day for many many years! The type Brutally extreme heavy duty vehicles I have always loved being around! When I do something dumb and break something its up to ME to fix it and with truck like this I have always been able to do that. I collect both US and German Military trucks and when needed full restorations, and NOT ONE of my trucks has any way shape or form of a computer in it!
@@sc1338 Pacific built heavy duty off highway trucks, similar idea to most ALL equipment and Vehicle manufacturers. The one exception in the early days was MACK. It sounds like your not really up to date on this topic, maybe just Surfing 😂

@@sc1338 The trucks for the logging industry in Canada west coast mostly had DD V12 and Allison automatics. Those engines were being swapped out in 2000, for the Detroit 60 series, 4 stroke.

It appears not only do Pacific Trucks percevere, but so do their People, with getting their trucks built and operating where toughness is a prerequisite, somehow. I came across photos of an M-26 Pacific tank retriever-WW 2. was that name dropped by PACCAR? great presentation and a neat set of photos. the Crane Company reminds me of a cement mixer I worked on in 1977. it had a grille emblem of just CCC and was from Texas. it had massive I-beam frame rails,could have built a bridge with them!
No infringement as Pacific trucks was Canadian and PacificTrucks held the Pacific naming rights in Canada and PACCAR did not. Name rights are per nation not just globally blanket.

Oh, one more. I used to work for this company Domtar [Dominion and Tar] and here is one of our trucks hauling one of the biggest loads of wood on earth, other than a ship or barge. The truck is 10 ft wide. The inside of the log bunks on the trailer is 16 feet wide. Sunflower seeds were banned at Pacific Truck and Trailer in 1978 I believe...lol. Owners would turn on heaters and they were blowing Sunflower seed shells all over inside of cabs...
The reason for the offset cab was so you could at least see down one side of the truck. If it was center mounted, you wouldn’t be able to see down either side very well.
@@m16ty I have been discussing this with others and one person did suggest that. However what comes with seeing over one side of the hood comes with not being able to see down the other side at all.

Pacific trucks were used for logging in eastern Australia, it was in the 1950's I think.

The first truck I learned to drive was a Pacific Hayes with a 5 & 4 (two stick) transmission.
