    I see Trevor in this rig around my neighbourhood often and it always puts a smile on my face. Dude drives it like he stole it too and I mean it in a good way, nothing better than beautiful old iron still working hard!

    I've seen this truck many times over the years on Vancouver Island and it truly is in a class of its own. The Bennett family know how to take care of their equipment and this truck is absolutely beautiful!!! Thanks for the great video of the self loader in operation and the history of this local legend!

    Having the V8 engines made sense back in the day when fuel wasn’t so pricy. Although I’m gonna guess a few things in that 3406 Cat ain’t “stock”, I’m thinking of the marine cam upgrade that puts out 800hp. Probably needed hauling that kind of weight.

    • @user-zu3dh7lu9r
      @user-zu3dh7lu9r 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi, I'm no expert. Adept Ape has done I believe two videos on this subject. From my understanding. The 3406E, C-15, C-16, And C-18 single turbo and C-18 twin turbo.
      Are all part of the same family. The 3406E and C15 I believe are identical bore and stroke capable of a factory 550hp. The marine cam upgrade is worth an additional 40 hp. The C16 is an increase of both bore and stroke.
      To get to the 800hp version you would have to also use a C18 crankshaft and related part's, con rods ect to get to the increased stroke of a C18 to achieve a reliable 800hp. The C18 twin turbo would raise that to 1000hp.
      Interesting note Caterpillar now offers brand new C15 blocks with core exchange from any Cat, Detroit or Cummins engines. all be it I would imagine at a premium price. None the less you could build a brand new engine.

    We looked into drop axles back in the day but they’re not legal here & needed to be able to pack more weight on the front end. It was never built for beauty just log hauling work horse. By the way I’m Trevor Bennett.

      Its a timber Mark . The hammer has a number on it that gets imprinted onto the ends for easy identification of where the trees originated. They must be stamped by law if the timber is from privately owned land and not public lands. images.craigslist.org/01717_9NkkmIxJI78z_0t20CI_600x450.jpg
