  • This video shows you the best meal planning apps out there (in our honest and very humble opinion). There are tons of videos telling you to plan your meals! And tons more telling you how to meal plan. In this video, we show you which meal planning apps are best for you, whether you want to be able to find specific recipes, plan your shopping or manage your cooking.
    The beauty of using meal planning apps is that it's all digital! You won't lose a recipe or forget something on your shopping list. You save TONS of time when making your shopping list and some of the meal planning apps even do the shopping for you!
    Perhaps you have never thought about using an app to do your meal planning. Or you have tried one or two applications but never found the perfect meal planning app for your family's needs. In either case, watch along to see how these (free) meal planning apps can make meal planning easier, cheaper, and more fun for you and your family!

    Helpful video! Several years ago, I tried about 10 meal planning apps. My favourite is Paprika (now Paprika3). I love having all my recipes with me wherever I go. It’s easy to search for recipes similar to my own, import them and edit them; very seldom do I have to type in a recipe. I haven’t done much meal planning with the app though. Something for me to learn!

We end up with last minute shopping lists / last minute meal decisions not to mention wasted items which, all combined, I think is a stress people don't fully recognise (or just put up with). Paprika is also my number one fav-- and hot tip-- usually the week of Thanksgiving they do a sale on the premium version which gets you cloud backup and sync.

    My most important feature is automatically being able to look at the pantry/inventory and being able to adjust the shopping list accordingly. Awesome video! I chose Paprika, but have one question - how do you deal with the fact that your imported recipes do not match the app's language? I have English, Danish and German recipes i want to import and whenever i want to create the grocery list, it jumbles up all the aisles and does not add up the ingredients properly. Do you translate your recipes? Or only the ingredients? Or do you simply edit the grocery list once it's created?

    • @RealOrganized
      @RealOrganized  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is such a good question! And unfortunately there isn't a super satisfying answer... :(
      I wish it could just translate them over because I have a lot of Danish recipes too.
      I translate my recipes as I add them. It's a lot more work up front but then it's done. And to be honest I mostly use American websites when I brows for inspiration.

      What do a you usually have for dinner? Do you have any favorite recipes? I wouldn’t stress picking up a meal planning app unless food planning was a real pain in my day-to-day life (which it does tend to be). You have to find what works for you... and there is such a thing as over-planning (but don’t tell anybody I said that). 😉
