All of the music in Freedom Cry is incredible. Especially Adewale's main theme. Of course, all AC franchise music has always been brilliant, but this, AC Origins and AC3's scores have always stood out to me the most.

I would love a translation of these lyrics. I remember the first time I heard this on the first plantation...and I knew this game was WAY too real to just be a game. Still touches a gentleman to this day.

I know, although it is set in the Pacific my country Colombia, had also a very strong African Culture influence, and in University I had the opportunity to learn a lot about typical dances and african songs here in my country folklore, I find it amazing how similar the musical bases are between ours and this rythms, Africa gave all of the Americas so much culture!

It’s such a shame, isn’t it? Maybe that’s why there’s so much racial tension. If we learned more at a younger age maybe we would get along a bit better. And no, I don’t mean sing-around-the-campfire-hunkey-dorey, lol, I mean if we educate and appreciate other peoples cultures maybe the world wouldn’t be as rough.
Anyway, I remember learning a few things about African culture. Once in 2nd grade and then again in middle school. But it wasn’t as much as I would have liked. We learn a lot about Europe, ancient Rome and Greece, Ottoman empire, both WWs and some other 19th century history.

This song is so good. I played freedom cry for the first time recently and everytime I went to a plantation I was just vibing to this song while stealthily taking out the guards. It's also cool how they can keep their hopes up enough to sing enthusiastically while being slaves, and maybe the only reason why the guards never shut them up is because they were secretly vibing to the song as well.
