Kauai Helicopter Tour Goes Wrong (Emergency Landing)

We're in Kauai, Hawaii and I got to check off one of the items on my bucket list, which is flying in a helicopter. We decided to go a helicopter tour of Kauai, one of the Hawaiian islands, that apparently is best known for its Jurassic Park cliffs called Napali Coast (Na Pali Coast). The views were incredible, and we got lucky scoring the two front seats next to the pilot. The company we used is called Blue Hawaiian.
The weather was a little iffy before we started the tour, it was raining on one side of the island but sunny on another. Unfortunately, towards the end of our tour the weather took a turn for the worse and our tour had to get cut short. We were not able to land in the regular airport of Lihue. We had to therefore make a somewhat emergency landing in another airport on the island on Princeville. We didn't have enough fuel to get back to our airport, plus the weather continued to get worse, so we had to wait - without any water, food, or our IDs or wallets, to get a bus back to the regular airport in Lihue to get back to our stuff.
It was definitely interesting to say the least, but it was all still worth it and I still highly recommend using this company.

these private helicopter tours are deathtraps. You are lucky to be alive.

Born and raised on Kauai and worked for helicopter company here. They are not as dangerous as they are put out to be. You have a better chance of death from ocean or even car accident then on one of these tours .
