Absolutely indescribably beautiful. Was the helicopter ride scary? Does it feel different to being on a plane?
I don’t even think our videos did it justice how beautiful it was! It’s a little nerve wracking for sure, but the helicopter was a nice one. This was a much smoother ride than the one we took in New Zealand. In flight feels like a plane but the takeoff and landings are a little strange feeling lol! You need to take a tour Danielle, you’d love it!
I live about 1600 ft elevation on the slopes of Hualalai, and I have never seen the summit before. All the focus is on Kilauea, for obvious reasons. This is wonderful, thanks! I'll be sharing with many friends in real life and on Facebook (I have over 2,000). Subscribing!
Here's an interesting video of the origin of that 1801 lava flow from Hualalai. Hannah Kihalani Springer is a great storyteller of ancient Hawaiian legends. This was a time when men and gods lived together. She lives near the neighborhood where I live and is a "national treasure" of Hawai'i. Her family once lived and owned land in Ka'upulehu, a coastal fishing village where the Four Seasons Resort is today.

Yes it was! It was incredible. That was their longest tour with of course the waterfall landing…per person was around $700, but was definitely a bucket list item!

The overall tour was about 3 hours. They stayed at the waterfall about 30 min and the pilot helped take pictures for everyone 😊
Where did you land and see the waterfall…what’s the name of the place? What a beautiful day it turned out to be.
It was somewhere along the Kohala Forest Reserve at the northern part of the island. I’m not sure which waterfall it was or even if they all have names, there were so many of them!

@maryvanlanen2486 this tour was with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. If you google them they have a website and multiple locations across Hawaii 🥰
where did you stop to watch the dolphins?
They had a bunch of them at the hotel we stayed at, Hilton Waikaloa Village. They offered swim with the dolphins experiences. I’m not sure if the dolphins were rescues or not.
How much did u pay for the tour?
Adult tickets were $102 and if you don’t get in like Wiebe it’s called a ‘ride along’ and they charged $65 for that. The place we suggest though that was like 300 feet away looks like they charge $118 which is well worth the extra unless you just really enjoy the long boat ride

Yes. The 4 of us paid for the landing. Wiebe and I also paid extra to ride in the front with the pilot.
