I find that it's best for body building style movements if you're working at maximal loads. As for whether the resistance will be sufficient for you, depends on how strong you are and the movement being performed. It by no means replaces a true cable column/tower, but it provides an excellent option for isolation exercises and dynamic compound movements (like rotational drills) when you're going to be needing a ton of resistance, but rather, specifically applied resistance.
