As someone with very little space, this could actually work really well for me. Right now I only have room for a bench and a set of adjustable dumbbells. I could probably clear out a little space on a wall to mount this, though having the room to move with the straps might be an issue. This is pretty comparable to a cable/weight setup but has the advantage of being much quieter (no weight dropping) which is a major plus living in a wood framed apartment. It's that expensive??? God damn. Can get a decent powerrack, bar and plates for this. Good review. I can't see many home gym owners getting this, but I see it has plenty of uses.
I've been using the kmeter app more recently, and though I have a bunch of issues with it (like accidentally losing my sets before I save them when I'm trying to delete a pre-rep), you can set your "Inertia" (i.e. how much flywheel mass you have on the unit) and then when it auto-tracks your reps it gives you exact power/force readings for concentric and eccentric portions of the lift (per rep!), as well as range of motion, average/peak speeds, etc. So when you say one of your complaints is that it's hard to track your progressive overload progress, I'd almost say it's even more fine-grained than with barbell training because you know exactly how much force you're producing *per rep* whereas when you're doing a barbell squat you just have a general feeling of how your reps went. Recently I've been loading 2 L flywheels on the kbox and doing squats and I've noticed that I get progressively more force-producing with each workset until about the 4th or 5th and then I start to deteriorate, but from workout to workout I have good guidance for how my force production in general is changing (i.e., increasing slowly). Hey Coop. Have you considered the Versa Pulley? They have been around for at least a decade. The cone shape allows for quick adjustments between high speed low resistance and low speed high resistance.
Please compare Ancore fitness blocks, handy gym, exxentric blocks, and any other useable pulley systems like Land or cable ? ( not max pro since it is one way resistance only!)
Just found your channel. Great stuff! Any thoughts on the Kynett line of flywheels? I can't seem to find much in the way of reviews but they have some very affordable options.
It’s a shame that Coop didn’t explain the real use case for this device. If you have the space for a rack, barbell, functional trainer, etc, and noise isn’t an issue but money is, then this isn’t for you. This and the kbox are either for somebody who doesn’t have the space for traditional equipment or needs to avoid the noise and can afford an expensive alternative. Or, it’s for somebody who has everything and wants to change up their training once in a while. I spent around $4k on the Kbox pro, but I live in an apartment where space and noise are issues. I could have rented another apartment to have space for a rack and barbell, but that’s $4k/month here. So, this was actually much cheaper.
How do the different sizes of flywheels change the resistance? It cannot be that the bigger the wheel is the more the resistance it generates because you said yourself that 'the harder you push, the harder it pushes back' - which suggests that the resistance is independent of the size of the wheel?
Hey Coop. Would you say that there's a massive difference between a black zinc and a stainless steel bar? I'm going to buy my first proper barbell and I'm wondering if I should buy the black zinc or the stainless steel OPB. The stainless steel bar is about 130 dollars more expensive than the black zinc one so I'm wondering whether it's worth the massive price jump!
I'd be a little concerned about high speed, precision machine in an environment where I'm throwing heavy weights around. What's the maintenance for something like this? Guessing the cost is driven not by materials but by tight machining tolerances.
COOOP! You need to review the Maxpro fitness gym. I wanna know your thoughts. I think it has the potential to be even more versatile than the flywheel. Also the Bodyforce x9 PLEASE! It looks phenomenal and right up your alley for multi exercise machines.
Oh okay so how much force you use for the concentric, determines how much force the flywheel produces for just the eccentric. That sounds difficult to keep things consistent. People sometimes like to do some reps more explosive than others, but with this flywheel, that would then give them a really hardcore eccentric in the middle of their set to deal with. Some of the demonstrated exercises looked weird as far as the pace and stuff goes. Definitely interesting.
I think its overpriced but thats the thing with it, its a marketing strategy, but still as a ''poorer person'' my self I can say, come on 200-300 usd gets you a simple bench. :)
300 USD gets you a set of dumbbells up to 20lbs, a barbell, standard squat rack, standard cable pulley machine.. the kbox provides something unique to those things, but a minimum of $2000 seems very steep even then
My assumption is that any standard cable attachments will work well with this? Or do you have to get all of their branded attachments for it to work properly?
Just noticed it was rocking a bit during the montage... AH! You are NOT using the Exxentric model that was designed to attach to Sorinex uprights (or possibly other power racks with 1" holes.)
Without a good way to measure resistance it would be hard to do unilateral movements and determine if you're getting balanced development. Everybody has a dominant side.
Did not know Coop was a hockey guy. I like you even more, my friend. Side note: Are you good? You were breathing pretty heavy over that locking mechanism🤣
I have no idea how this thing works, but couldnt they like, hook it up to a screen that shows you the wattage (or whatever unit it would be) so you could aim for say, 3x8 at 300 watts or something, then next time 3x8 310 watts. Or maybe thats what the app does that you said they had?
He did. There are some others out there. Strexbox or flyccentric are both under 1000$ for the basic model and only one flywheel. Strexbox has a box and a column system like this. Haven’t tried it ever but it looks pretty good. Not as pretty as exxentric but should still get the job done. Very expensive still though but it takes up very little space and is very versatile.

New idea: I also made my own coop style squat rack setup with the rhino attached to a slinger, so I suppose you could load that awkward hspu variation with a rhino + sled pulling harness.
@@wynnerCF2020 ya I use mine for a bunch of different stuff. I like how you can load up only the front if you want for sit-ups and I like how it uses weight plates with it.
At this price point I bought the KBox, the KPulley, and went ahead and grabbed the LegExx. Very affordable!
This much for what looks like would be fitness trend in the 70s amongst moms 😂
Until they try it, overload eccentrics are brutal
Hey coop! Will the nuobells come out with an expansion anytime soon?
Coop. Pull a Mr. Beast. You gotta give away 200,000 weight plates to your 200,00th subscriber.
Would this replace an item like a functional trainer?
I feel like I got kicked in the balls repeatedly when I saw the price......and I'm a chick 🤷♀️😭
For a studio or athletic training centre, sure maybe.
Coop! I can taste the 200k subscriber mark! Unreal man, keep it going!
This has an application for astronauts who spend an extended period of time in space. They can avoid muscle atrophy and bone loss. Or would a lack of gravity affect it?
A lack of gravity wouldn't affect the wheels, just the astronauts. I imagine they'd need to strap themselves in order to keep from being pushed up from a lot of the movements
@@educationalporpoises9592 actually, I think this technology was developed my NASA. I can't remember right now, but I think one of my teachers talked about it in college.
Hey Coop. Have you considered the Versa Pulley? They have been around for at least a decade. The cone shape allows for quick adjustments between high speed low resistance and low speed high resistance.
I would love to see what you think of the k pulley go starter system.
@5:30 is it Exerfly??? 😳😳😳
Please compare Ancore fitness blocks, handy gym, exxentric blocks, and any other useable pulley systems like Land or cable ? ( not max pro since it is one way resistance only!)
Did they give that to you to review?
Hey Coop, do a review on the Maxx Bench. I think it’s like 5 years old or something but I don’t see much about it and its an awesome design.
Coop, I see you have the KBox4 Active! Is the Platform size of 17”x27” enough room for doing squats ? Thanks
The K-box video was the first one i seen from you , the jumper still haunts me .....
I'd be a little concerned about high speed, precision machine in an environment where I'm throwing heavy weights around. What's the maintenance for something like this? Guessing the cost is driven not by materials but by tight machining tolerances.
A legend and a hero for all of our needs
You got 200k subscribers! I love the kbox, you can do just about anything with it!
Great review, as always. I would love to know more about that cable tower it was attached to...
Have you tried the versapulley? That seems to do the functions of a kbox and kpulley and looks sturdy
Could you do Palloff Press with this? I'm thinking probably not..?
What do you think about Desmotec the Italian company with the same concept?
Coop, do you have any info on Bishop Barbell? Or their bumper plates?
Great review! There is any cheaper option that you think is worth?
COOOP! You need to review the Maxpro fitness gym. I wanna know your thoughts. I think it has the potential to be even more versatile than the flywheel. Also the Bodyforce x9 PLEASE! It looks phenomenal and right up your alley for multi exercise machines.
Am I correct in thinking the item you reviewed Coop had the pulley upgrade kit fitted?
I bought 2 of the "kpulley go" for my 3x3 rack, these things are seriously underestimated
Coop whats the diverging hand grip called you use. Its like a fat grip but curved?
Turns a straight bar into a curved
Hey coop what do you think of lever gyms
What is the difference between a power rack and a squat rack?
Oh okay so how much force you use for the concentric, determines how much force the flywheel produces for just the eccentric.
That sounds difficult to keep things consistent. People sometimes like to do some reps more explosive than others, but with this flywheel, that would then give them a really hardcore eccentric in the middle of their set to deal with. Some of the demonstrated exercises looked weird as far as the pace and stuff goes.
Definitely interesting.
I was expecting something like 200 or 300 usd..
Or do you have to get all of their branded attachments for it to work properly?
any cable attachments will work.
I'd be interest in a kynett flywheel review.
Is there a US made version of this now?
Dude that price is outrageous
Just ordered mine and will be using everyday. Yeah expensive but it’s only money, when u die u don’t take with you lol 😆
yo Coop love your stuff!
Can adjust the cable rope length like the kbox in this model?
That is $3k aud... You can literally make an entire home gym with that amount 😳
Would this be suitable for 'time under tension' reps?
People in the comments saying $2185 is too much like literally Coop himself and everyone else haven't already said it. Stay original guys.
When is the review for the ancore coming?
Why does it make one go all black and white upon installation. Must be a bug..
Did not know Coop was a hockey guy. I like you even more, my friend.
Side note: Are you good? You were breathing pretty heavy over that locking mechanism🤣
I am very interested in your comments on Exerfly.
I have no idea how this thing works, but couldnt they like, hook it up to a screen that shows you the wattage (or whatever unit it would be) so you could aim for say, 3x8 at 300 watts or something, then next time 3x8 310 watts. Or maybe thats what the app does that you said they had?
Yes, the kMeter app does that. You can even set it to announce your wattage for each rep as you do them.
What shoes are you rockin in this??🔥
6:39 The smoothness of the rod eh??
This makes it very clear that technology can advance past weights !! .. .
Did I hear you say you would review a cheaper alternative or was that just my wishful thinking
KPulley 2 ooooor 2k$ pulley. Would prefer a good cable station
