Dunlop is the only pedal company I’ve had multiple issues with parts and products failing and unless it’s a brand new product they won’t replace anything. It’s a shame cause this sounds great but I won’t support a company that’s consistently shoddy.
DUNLOP, this pedal needs TOP Jacks and it would have been nice to have a bias control plus can swap the silicon transistor Q1 and germanium Q2 you can swap them Q1 to Q2 or Q2 to Q1. The "clean up tone" should get those early Hendrix "bell clean tones" but the circuit has to be modified to get that clean up tone.
MXR have had the same enclosure layout since the start, it doesn't need top loading jacks. I doubt they are going to pull all of these from store shelves and revise the circuit just to cater to what you think they should have done. They did what they did with it and it's already done and they did a great job by the sounds of it.
They do top-mounted jacks somestimes. My Carbon Copy Deluxe is top mounted. But yeah, normally it isn't. They probably won't update their design, but I love top-mounted jacks.
