I visited the Philippines for a month in 2019 bumped around a few different islands and surfed. In all my global travels through South America the Mediterranean, India and elsewhere, I felt the people of the Philippines were generally very kind, genuinely thoughtful and very approachable and I would go back there in a heartbeat.

Most of us don't talk to each other in public unless something happens that peaks our interest or an incident that urges our Pinoy souls to check if we can help out.

That makes sense about locals not randomly talking to other locals like I’m doing in these videos. I don’t do much of that in my home country either. Thanks for watching! Unfortunately I have come across too many fellow westerners that act like they are mini Gods and this saddens me. One for how they act and treat the Filipino locals, and secondly it can reflect on us westerners who are not this way. I have lived in Maguindanao and Cotabato City for the last 10 years. Maguindanao is a place that usually is met with OMG why there it’s dangerous, are you not scared? From Filipino friends outside of Mindanao. The answer is no and the same as above, just be cool and boy will you ever find a better place or people. So miss understood I call it the land of endless smiles.

I'm glad you are enjoying Philippines. I will retire in couple of years and will go back to Philippines to enjoy. I have been to different countries and there is no place like Philippines. Thanks for bringing me to places I have not been there. I am enjoying your video. Keep exploring. BTW, in General American, the letter A , as most vowel letters in English, has four main pronunciations. In the word ‘exact’, it’s the AA sound, exact. In the word ‘father’, it’s the AH sound. The letter "A" in Philippines has only one pronunciation. "When you say "TayTay", it is tah_y tah_y. It is the AH sound.

I agree to this... the Philippines only has one way to pronounce each vowels...
The "A" will always be pronouced as AH... (Father, America)
The "E" is always pronounced as EH... (Fell, Well, Bell, Echo)
The "I" is pronounced as the long EE sound. (Beep, Jeep, Weep)
The "O" is pronounced as short O. (Off, Fall, Wall, Ortho)
The "U" is always pronounced as the long OO sound (Wool, Fool, Uber) 😊

    My tip.
when you are a foreigner and they invite you to a party or banquet, they will not let you spend money.. If you ever give money, it should only be to children, not to adults. Because it's an insult for Filipinos to hand over money after they invited you.
So don't do that, just enjoy yourself and there will be no problem 💖
