Thank you. I’ll put in for one! Lol. The best thing about lacquer is that you can do subtitle blends more effectively. I don’t think I could have done this with base coat/clear coat on this car.
Very Nice. My Mom in 1987 Traded in Her 1985 Crown Victoria for this Exact same Color & Brougham with the 5.0. She Pampered it Dearly. Drove it 3000 miles a Year. In 1991 while at Cadillac Service the Service Manager told Her 1992 was gonna be last year for that Body style. 2 Days Later She went back to Dealership to Speak with Salesman. Mom Decided she wanted to Trade in the 87. She Factory ordered a 1992 Brougham De Elegance in White with the 5.7 Liter. She Surprisingly Deleted the Padded Roof. She wanted the Paint. Mom Died in 2013. Her Caddie at that Point had 19.000 Miles. She Willed it to her Sistet who Sold it. I wonder where Moms Caddie is Today.
God I remember playing that driving game at the arcade when I was younger lol and remember Regan as president makes me feel old 😔🤣 now videos games are like movies kids are playing today. Those games back then were high tech 🤣🤣
Very nice! I have a 1987 Brougham d'Elegance in Autumn Maple Firemist with Carmine Red interior. Just turned 60k miles. It's enjoying a winter slumber in my garage :)
The HT4100 was very problematic, and I will admit, more so in its first 4 years of production. In 1985, Cadillac had worked out the majority of the bugs, and the engine could stand a little taller. Later on, the engine was put into smaller cars and could handle the stress better. In my opinion, the 4100 is the smoothest engine design bar none. Give me a 1985 Cadillac Seville Elegante dressed in white, with a dark blue interior and a Fats Domino cassette any day. I accept that no one cared for the 4100 cars, but in retrospec, that leaves them all for me 😉
Hello, Really Nice, However, why is the Amber Low Fuel light on (on the Gauge)? And it looks like the green 'Level Ride' Light is on too...Usually an issue with the Level ride motor...
@@southerncadman7066 That would portend to an intermittent connection or solder point on a wire or circuit board in the fuel lamp circuit. I'd be taking everything apart to find the issue and fix it right if I had to because of my OCD which is why I went into electronics repair lol
I am learning to pick my battles. 😏. The light does work like it should during the times when it defaults to the off position. I do have a parts car if it comes down to replacing the gauge.
"Best of All It's a Cadillac" Beautiful lacquer paint job match. One plus about that engine is the fuel pump is relatively easy to get to up front on the side of the engine. No tank to drop. One negative is a lot of emissions lines. The short coolant bypass hose I change to silicone.
@@southerncadman7066 I need to replace a heater core in my '84. It looks to be pretty easy to do. I may never have the car until it leaks again but I believe I am going to drill a small hole in the bottom of the case for drainage so if it leaks it doesn't run back inside the interior. Might be able to catch a leak sooner also if it drips on the ground.
@@marcwoodward850 Yes, I agree. I have the service manual. I hope the one in my '84 Seville and Eldorado never leak. Whew that would be a job replacing. The Seville someone over charged the A/C and blew a hole in the evap coil and both halves of the case. I had to remove the pass fender, wheel well liner to replace the case and coil, Not a fun job. Made it easy to replace the power antenna at the same time.
These cars are so beautiful. Some of GM's best work in design and quality from the 80s. Once they ditched the 4100 and went to either the Olds 307 or Chevy 350 from 1986-92 they are some of the best luxury cars period.
I had one of these from 98-04. The motor was solid and reliable but every now and then it would break the alternator belt. GM tuned this drivetrain to run like a boat so it had no oomph off the line whatsoever and it took awhile to get to 60 like 15 seconds. Fuel economy was awful but it did get a little better when I replaced the EGR valve and did a Seafoam. Seems this engine is prone to carbon build up. It was carbureted but it started on the first try most of the time with just one pump when it was cold, but sometimes it would start then stall right back out then would need a few more pumps to start again- the miles were getting high by then. Overall it held up well. It had around 230,000mi on it when I got rid of it and was on it's second Transmission but rust was taking it's toll on the body. My late parents had a 91 D'Elegance model with the 305 TBI along with the other driveline upgrades. That revised drivetrain along with the higher spring rates for the suspension made it feel like a totally different car than my 87. It was still smooth and quiet and the added power made it fun to drive.
Whoever painted this car and blended it so well deserves a raise

Gorgeous car absolutely stunning i love it

Beautiful 😊
Beautiful caddy! I recently picked up a 1987 Cadillac Brougham super clean for the year all I need to replace is the bumper fillers.
Very nice
Those 80s cars may have been down on power but they were so plush and inviting.
Agreed. The 307 was no rocket, but very reliable and the best you could get at that time.

Beautiful Brougham
Maybe someday mark
Sweet, I have a triple black 88 Brougham
Oh, and Underhood we have a Replacement Compressor AND R134 Retrifit...!👍
Sure do…. I forgot to mention that. Good eye!
Thats one nice 87 and whith a 88 grill i wish could find one like that in blue for like 5k the engine look super clean
87 and 88 both used the same egg-crate style grill. 👍
I'm just bought a infinity It makes a Cadillac rhyme like a Volkswagen
I don’t know what that means, but to me they haven’t made a real Cadillac since 1992.
Personally I prefer the HT4100...
🤦🏻♂️😂
You're either a masochist or joking lol
The Dapper Dealer is a one-of-a kind…. A true gem, but I am still trying to figure that part out myself! 😂

Good eye. It is sticking. Give it a nice little tap and it goes out. It will probably free up the more the car is driven.

I just dealt with the short hose you are talking about. Installed a new water pump and heater core.

Ugh.
I was going to mention the gas light and the level ride, but someone beat me to it. Nice Brougham though!
The vehicle still available
No, I’m afraid not, but this one is…. 1986 CADILLAC BROUGHAM 65K Original. miles! FOR SALE!

Couldn’t agree more!
Is it still available and what’s the asking price
The yellow one is currently available.
Is it the only one available at the moment?
Oh and Yes the 307 IS a Good Motor, No doubt, However, the 350 Increases Value..Period..👍
Can’t argue with that!
Typically whats the Budget one would have to have to purchase one of these?
Totally depends on condition.

Are you going to sell it
What price point do you typically start at?
A lot of variables in play. No one answer.
