    • @MrMakeStuff
      @MrMakeStuff  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      In the video, you can see that moisture is still being drawn up despite the plastic membrane. This is evident from the change in the mix color. Moisture is present both in the depth and the atmosphere.

      It wouldn't be time or cost-effective to lift the pavers, add plastic, and relay them. However, I’ve noticed that where there’s no plastic membrane under the slabs, weeds are able to take deeper root and even grow up from below. With a plastic sheet in place, weeds only grow from above, making them easier to remove.

    Thanks for the dry mix application to fill garden slab gaps. Your building sand is red and seems rather fine. We have construction sand here in the US and its not so fine and its not red. Can I still use this or must the sand be powdery rather than grainy? Wonder what to ask for at the Big Box store?

    • @MrMakeStuff
      @MrMakeStuff  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Builder's sand, also known as plasterer's, bricklayer's, or mason's sand, can vary in color depending on its origin. The color itself isn't crucial. If you request sand for rendering or for use between the layers of a brick wall, you should receive something similar.

  • @waheedmalik6120

    Why didn't you compact it and fill it again until it reaches the top?

    • @MrMakeStuff
      @MrMakeStuff  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Not needed, with the dry mix it just fills the gap as you brush it. Think about sand filling an empty space to lift stones. Have you seen Indiana Jones

    i tried this, I have the sand stone colour slabs, I tested this method over a few slabs, and it litely stained the slabs, took me3 hours to "scrub" the slabs clean, I think this method works best with grey slabs, also maybe I didnt trust the process to "wash off" the slabs with a hose, im not sure, it was felt too risky at the time leaving the powder on the whole slab..
