Dr. Peterson, I am a registered nurse of almost 40 years and I have a masters degree in Gerentological, Nursing and Nursing administration. I’ve studied the human condition over these years, as have you.
I greatly appreciate your work, your words, your countenance, your leader ship, and guidance. I have no idea if you’ll see this message, I only hope that you do to encourage you and bolster you. When I was pregnant, with my only daughter, I suffered a tragic loss in that I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have been disabled ever since to degree. I could go on and on about me. But I just want to thank you for your work and efforts. I am homebound much of the time and you give me great hope in the future of our countries and our world.
Because I’m a critical thinker, I have known things in the media to be untrue, but the masses won’t listen. Thank you for awakening people to the truth.
Keep on keeping on we are here loving your work and supporting you. God bless you and your family.❤❤❤

Sad but true. They manipulate these poor kids into wasting time and energy on this bogus claim! They could be using their time more productively, but they want the outrage televised so that is the reason for the manipulation in the first place. Youth blaming the elders for their perceived doom. Still they miss one point. Nuclear energy is very expensive, private sector has problem to provide it and you want private sector to own nuclear reactors?
In Sweden we want more reactors but its a lot more expensive compare to Wind power etc so it might not be possible.

And then there is storage to pay for (batteries) and some kind of backup because the ‘renewables’ are so intermittent. And their connection to the grid is often thousands of miles of copper wire.

I lived entire decades of my life with hydroelectric/nuclear energy sources. Both require regular, vigorous maintenance. Private sector energy suppliers were actually more reliable in electricity transmission than the public utilities.

I loved this talk. Geological ages, physics of energy, economics, demographic, politics, so many crucial points. Most of all, I understand the relationship between poverty and energy availability and why the climate agenda makes even less sense than I thought, like I don't know how its activists can bring it forward. I see it's easy for them to make the message simple and emotional, because there's nothing else to it that would be compelling. You have to ignore so many other factors in order to believe in it and sell it.

Agreed. For example, you'd have to be intelligent enough to look up the thousands of whale strandings since 2011, and the entirety of king crabs missing, and the mass bleaching of what used to be The Great Barrier Reef, and the exact identical cesium from Fukushima in your very own urine sample. Fukushima btw has 4 fully blown out spent fuel pools and china syndromes core reactors and Japan just had another massive quake resulting in another meltdown and the entire Pacific is as good as dead. Thank you both for your most pragmatic viewpoints on this subject. I live in the Philippines in the "Province" by my wife's family. They mostly all cook in "dirty kitchens", and yes, everything is volatile. Electricity costs are very high, very unreliable, and variable. Fossil fuel is the same. It's always on the edge of survival. The number one mindset here is simply making it by until tomorrow. There is no time to think about the environment when surviving today requires all of their energy.

      Expertise, exactly. And truth.
Electricity is only 20% of total energy used.
      100% electric is 5 × 20% todays electric energy.
      Grid capacity 5 x bigger.
This is the insane part of all centralised concentrated electric generation.
      The Australian example is
      1 million people
      1gw generation capacity.
      40,000 klm of grid.
Grid costs $ 1 million per klm.
      5 times grid capacity
= $5 million per klm. Extra costs.
      = $5,000,000 per klm.
      Generation 1gW nuclear $ 2 billion
      × 5 × $2billion ÷ 40,000
      = $ 250,000 per klm. Extra costs.
The grid is the ECONOMIC KILLER cost.
      The ELEPHANT in the room.
20 times more expensive than nuclear generation.
100 years to build the first national grid.
      We don't have centuries.

Thank you gentlemen for this extremely interesting and important conversation.
At about 1:03:00 In my life time I have seen oil heating systems in Switzerland becoming more efficient. Nowadays they use 1/3 of oil to produce the same amount of heat.
If we can further increase the efficiency in energy resourcing and production, and I have no doubt about our ability to do so, we will be able to do more with less.
Even the artficial lighting industry has increased their efficiency. Starting with fluorescent lighting back in the days and now with led lighting. Same lumen with less watts. Where a 40W candesent light bulb was used a 5 watts led light has replaced it.
One important point to be aware of, is that there is obviously a trade off we can't deny. Fluorescent and led lighting don't have the light brilliance of candescent lights.
I'm certain that we will become ever more efficient with our resources and energy production, even though an important and difficult issue to tackle is the back coppling of heat emmissions in energy consumption.
Wishing you all the best Dr Tinker.

Brilliant discussion as always. I don't know where I'd be without this type of educated common sense informative content? (I'd have nothing to watch 🤣). Interesting comment about the number of views on ARC videos. I can personally confirm that speakers linked to mainstream politics (e.g. Michael Gove) I avoided watching due to my utter disdain and disengagement from main stream politicians (no disrespect intended to Michael Gove - I just have no faith in our politicians and have just stopped listening to them - due to the total mess they've caused here in UK). However, I have consumed other videos from ARC where the topic is subject based with a presenter who is less linked to mainstream politics.

I very much enjoyed how Scott talked about things. Probably one of my favorite podcasts yet! I love the open discussion about facts, digging down to the root issues, and not assuming we should be going one way or another.

This enlightened so much of this issue people always try to politicize it and you can’t get a try look at it. I tended to be on the side of stuff is changing but we can prepare with sea walls and such, but this just gave such a good perspective. I don’t think either side will give you actual facts or at the very least a documentary to check out, it’s just trust us.

    Mr. Peterson, family, and Team,
Thanks for the information and vision you work so hard to give us. This gives us something to work towards! I grew up next to Dr. Blackwood in Chesapeake, Va and the work you two do together is inspiring as well. I am "doing some time" in Muskegon, Mi of all places and I appreciate your taking the time, resources and risk to come to Grand Rapids. Michigan is a place of horrible group think with very few people who arent blindly power driven. I look forward to leaving. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing your tour pass throught West Michigan, USA.

Thank you Dr Tinker for your easy to understand facts. I finally have a video my super smart 36 yr old son will believe.
He thinks we, living as we do now, only have 20 more yrs left....

Every single one of Dr Peterson's interviews on here is worth listening to, so much vital information and thought-provoking ideas. I like the blue patchwork jacket too ! Thanks for all you do, Dr Peterson. Stay healthy and get plenty of rest. It is remarkable just how much you pack into your life. Really looking forward to the new book due to come out in November, "We Who Wrestle With God". Scott Tinker was another excellent guest, I learned lots in this interview. The best way forward for energy policy is surely a sensible mix of fossil fuels, nuclear, renewables. When certain people start referring to mankind as a "plague" on the planet, we know we are in trouble. That was the sort of the language that was used by the regimes of Hitler, Stalin, Mao and others. The world is not about to end. I watched some of those ARC speeches and found them positive and uplifting.

Praise and blessings to you, Jordan Peterson. Thank you so much for all you do. I would sure like to see someone come up with a visible way to show the balance between environmentally driven public opinion, and legislation versus the truth . I envision an old school set of scales, showing on one side, the environmental benefit, and on the other side, the environmental cost. As an example, California passes a mandate for more wind power. They are limited in how much more they can develop in their own state by their own choosing. So, two very large power corridors are being built ,as I write this, from Wyoming to Vegas and California. So that they can purchase wind power from Wyoming. I’m sure there is absolutely no environmental concerns about two large power corridors going over 1000 miles as well as the amount of fossil fuels and raw materials It takes to build it out . If that was on a simple scale for people to see for themselves it may be helpful in turning the tide of popular but unwise long-term decisions.

It would've been valuable to understand Tinker's view on the impact of CO2 emissions and whether they're negatively impacting the environment. Most people understand the Earth fluctuates in temperature and atmospheric make-up. What I want to understand is how fast is it changing and whether that rate change is impactful and/or too fast for the world, animals, plant life and humans to adapt, and what are the impacts?
He said the greening of the Earth is mostly invasive and low diversity- not farm crops. I feel like the actual impacts of CO2 emissions were unexplored and swept under the rug. I'm not saying the conclusion on how to proceed would be different but it's important.

Great talk. Pity at about 58/59 minute mark Scott Tinker seems to be nervous about the Great Barrier Reef, he needs to be aware that there is a lot of controversial opinion about its health at the moment. Many serious scientists are not too worried.

Some small incomplete facts, pollutants from coal can be reduced and captured and reused by 99% or more. Waste from using coal in power and steel can be reused to replace cement, which reduces the CO2 from cement production. But very interesting and measured discussion.

Jordan, great that you invited this gentleman on your podcast. As you know, its important to hear many opinions. He was very alluring in the beginning, but it became clear soon after he started to talk, hes just another one of these guys that's got a spin on phasing out gas and inexpensive energy. He is an elite and in the clouds. My opinion from a fellow Alberta guy. Careful spreading his message ongoing. Great work you are doing.

A big problem not mentioned is, green energy is relatively new, which means a lot of new patents and people getting rich on the tech side. Oil drilling etc is old tech, so nobody getting rich that way, and fossil fuels themselves sell relatively cheap. All comes down to, are the power players making money. ALWAYS follow the money!
