The old wooden escalators at Macys are from the 1920s and are super historical. I love them so much. I intentionally go to Macy's to ride them all the time (and to pick up broadway flyers at the info desk next to the starbucks)

I feel like a 54 Below show should be the tradition of how to spend your last night each visit because the vibes are just the best. I am not a housewives person at all but it's fun seeing you geek out over other things than theater because it shows we all get giddy over the most random of events. Whenever your next trip to the states is there is still plenty to do & see be it NYC or elsewhere so cheers to more adventures to come.
Black Seed Bagel must be a chain cos I had an awesome one in Chelsea Market. Glad Aeron found some delicious treats on your trip! OMG we LOVE Michael Urie. Am so jealous you got to see him do Buyer & Cellar in London. I couldnt get tickets so was delighted to see him do it online during lockdown. I wish I could have got to see him in this - though was lucky enough to catch him in Spamalot.. Absolutely adored him in Ugly Betty and was so delighted to get to meet him when he was in Bright Room Called Day at the Public. He and his husband were so sweet and when they found out I'd flown over from London just to see the show wouldn't stop chatting with me xx
I did see them do "One Day More" from Les Mis at Ellen's Stardust Diner once, but you're right that they tend to veer more towards pop songs. Gayle's Broadway Rose at The Edison is almost entirely musical theatre music.
I haven’t seen it yet, but The Effect is opening at the Shed in March. It’s a Jamie Lloyd production that’s transferring from London. I’m seeing it later next month but some of my UK friends saw it and highly recommend it.
I think you made a small mistake regarding Once Upon a Mattress. You should have said starring Harriet Harris!! 😉😉 (sorry, but I’ve stanned her since I was young…)
"Once Upon a Mattress" is one of my least favorite musicals--until this version! This show was delightful, funny, and worth seeing again! Also, I was worried you'd missed your show when you said you needed to pick up tickets at Joe's Pub. It's a distance from City Center. Thank God, you realized your mistake.

I am not planning to see the show in question at this time, but am curious about its reviews for various reasons. The show started nearly a week ago (previews, I believe), and yet I’ve only seen one official review of it so far. I don’t really know how the theatre world works. But nothing yet from The Guardian or NYT.
