And ir honestly smells like mucus (which is what people call buttocks smell, and it makes sense cuz it's the responsible for that smell). But not just that, it is oppressive. You can smell that stuff miles away, I absolutely hate that. Specially in the heat. It's a strong, lasting smell that taintst anything near it. If you drive a cars with one, it will smell like it. Well, i ok with strong smell of durian, is gave me more attract to it. Nothing happen, only when eat it which gave me more but my grandma said always prepare your water to drink cuz if you eat to much without drink water your body will got heat. I still remember i at first when i kid I don't want eat it but when first try i then need more until my grandma cut more three durians for me. I think the smell of rotten onion is completely different from durian. as someone who likes durian, I'm quite puzzled with how durian hater describe the smell, because the way they describe it often overly exaggerated because of their bias/hatred to the fruit. for me durian smell is pretty close to a fermented food. in Indonesia we fermented casava to be something we call as"tape". it have a slightly sour fermented odor,for me it's pretty close to durian.
