    Good information. This video helped me to remove my door trim to fix a broken wing mirror. Thanks very much. Great job.

    Did you use ypur factory cable with that speaker or a new one from the amp to the door? If so how do u hide the cable. I mean like when u open the door you dont see it like if is factory. I want to upgrade my speakers but dont wanna show any cable when my door is open.

    Very informative video! Wondering if you changed the front dash speakers. I don't want to do a full amp and bass install yet but I want to change all existing speakers. Any recommendations?

      Go check out Toyota Nation for a walk through on this install www.toyotanation.com/threads/2020-se-sedan-build-part-1-stereo.1675414/ . I changed all speakers but "jumped" past the dash speakers so that I could install the tweeters at a better angle on my doors (Rockford Fosgate). The dash location is not good for sound direction in this model Corolla IMHO.

    Super helpful! Looks pretty similar to when i replaced door speakers on a 2016 RAV4! So seeing this makes me super happy confident to replace them again on my 2020 Hatch! Do you know if the factory speakers were mounted with rivets?

      NO RIVETS!!! Philips head screws nowadays :-)

    I'm looking at this cause I want to do the sound deadening. Exactly like how you've done yours but I'm wondering that white plastic part can you open that and it leads to the metal back panel part. Did you also put sound deading on that too?

      I would go with the fusebox - there are others that have posted good content on this task, I dont usually mess with it though since I generally run power from my batter for amps and use those

      No rivets! Toyota used to do that, but it's been awhile. Simple screws now, all is good.

    Hey brotha, questions. What size speaker for the front doors? And did the dampening make a difference for you? And the foam i’m assuming you probably purchased it on your own and cut it huh? Thanks in advance man. Looking to replace my door speakers myself. Oh and did you by chance do the rear speakers?

      Hey there, go check out Toyota Nation for a walk through on this install www.toyotanation.com/threads/2020-se-sedan-build-part-1-stereo.1675414/ 6.5" on speakers front and back, yes, all custom, foam baffles and Kilmat/Dynamat makes a huge difference and is worth it if you are gonna start taking things apart anyway

    I ask as I don't have this sound insulation in my car door panels

    • @unification17
      @unification17  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did that - yeah, never seen a Toyota come from the factory with sound deadening material already installed. Maybe on the higher end models with nice stereos? Typically though, sound deadening is an after market thing

    • @musicanahmed
      @musicanahmed 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @dawsonspath2257
      @dawsonspath2257 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@musicanahmed I am a firm believer in doing this if you want higher end sound and you really care about clarity. It's also easy to do and if you are already taking apart things and getting in there, you might as well do the sound deadening and eliminate rattling. It's worth it if you are investing time, money and energy in your sound. If you are just doing a little upgrade maybe its not worth it but for me, I'll always do it

    Do you need a amp for those speakers?

    • @dawsonspath2257
      @dawsonspath2257 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, you dont NEED one, but I would strongly encourage an amp and a line output converter install, ideally with at least 1 sub too - for the absolute best sound! You can do all of that for pretty cheap too, you dont need super high end stuff

  • @jms7585
    @jms7585 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Any chance you could give me some guidance where to find the JBl audio specs for the ‘20 XSE? Looks like you have already upgraded your system and that is what I need to do. Too many rattles and the sound is not “premium.” Nice video.

    • @unification17
      @unification17  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure about the details on the JBL, but I can say its probably not worth the stock cost and after-market is the only way to go if you want REALLY good audio. You been to Crutchfield.com? I would always reference that if you want to upgrade. There are a number of resources that I use - Car Audio Fabrication has a fantastic TH-cam channel. Regardless of your stock setup (JBL or otherwise) the speakers and HU are largely the same and you will need ~6.5's in both front and rear doors - there is a sub in the rear deck of the sedan (not sure on the hatch) that you can use or eliminate (I would eliminate it)

    • @jms7585
      @jms7585 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Been installing car audio for years. I usually purchase from Sonic Electronix. The JBL audio isn’t bad, just lacks the lows and soundproofing.
