another piece in the puzzle, thanks for showing the salon care 40 in the other video, that stuff is so good, and now showing the importance of wiping off with distilled water after each application, to be truthful I am getting less color loss with just using the hair touch up peroxide. especially on the delicate structure of some of these 1963 books. before the comic bag everyone stacked their books and evened the pile off over and over when taking out to look at the collection. the more times wet the more opp for those rough spines to split. so important to scope out the whole structure of the book before starting but you know thanks a bunch

Just started my first book using this method...i wanted a refresher so i'm watching it again and i'm glad i did because i didn't use immacuclean in-between i forgot about that step, but it seems to be working i'm trying it out on a water stained comic i haven't had time to do it just for foxing that will be next... but what i did do is my box i use to cover the lights i lined it with aluminum foil to reflect the black light better not sure if that really does anything but i figured it can't hurt.. i got that idea from seeing a uv "purse" for sale that you put your keys and stuff in for women and it has a light that you click on when you're not using it to kill germs buti noticed the inside was all a reflective material so i thought why not use that idea

I'll send you a pick. I took it 3 hours into the process, I estimate it will take 3. The edges were quite Tan.

I have a black light flash light (for detecting restoration) will this give UV rays to remove slight mold on a comic interior?

Can you do interior pages like this? I came across some older Amazing Spider-Man comics from an attic find in not to bad shape, but had some water damage and discoloration.

Was wondering same and if for interior pages you can use a black light flashlight to lighten or kill mold ?

The third liquid you used, not the peroxide solution and not the distilled water but it sounded like you said “magic clean“. What is that?

What % peroxide solution are you using? 3%, 10%%. Also, do you have a link for your UV lamps? I'm assuming it's blue spectrum? I like your method and want to try it myself. That's why I'm asking the questions. Much appreciated.

Hi Big John. Question I have a comic that has heavy foxing and I am trying your technique and works great but since the foxing is dark, will this eventually clear up if i keep at it or will the results not be 100% removal of the foxing. Don't want to over do it if I don't need to. Great demonstration thank you

So I bought some old 1990's books from my local store out of the dollar bins, the pages where very yellow when I bought them and I was disappointed as I didn't open the book at the store, well this was maybe 2 years go, I opened the books today after keeping them stored in my box and the pages are all white now? Can someone explain this to me...How did my pages turn back to white? I don't know what I did?

Does the UV light at all effect the darker colors or does it just brighten whites?

    • @saleens330

Usually no. If you over did something or it’s super white but you also pulled an area of color..possibly. It just has to be overly evident.
