It is possible to mow in reverse. You have to place the key in the middle position and hold down the reverse caution button for three seconds. Then the PTO will stay engage when going in reverse.
I’m a 76 yr women .mower works great for my yard. Little story when I first bought it. Almost done and I thought it wasn’t cutting very well. Went to put the blade closer to the ground and I hadn’t engaged the deck. Recut. You really explained everything.
Doesnt your mower have the reverse mow on the ignition switch. My 30 H has a switch for reverse mowing right on the switch its a one turn back and press the triangle button
Yes it does. He missed that feature. Turn the key to the yellow sticker and press the button. A light will go on and you can mow in reverse. Very simple and this is demonstrated in several reviews of this mower on TH-cam videos
My new CC30H does Unbelievably well on my steep hills. Dont know what he means about that. Must have never tried !! And yes the mow in reverse wrks just fine !!

My Home Depot doesn't stock this mower, but its website indicates that it ships to the customer and that "Some assembly is required". Just how much assembly is required?
Thank you very much. The club cadet seems a lesser mower than my 28 all steel snapper that I purchased in 2004, but the snapper needs a lot of work. tomorrow i will buy a cub cadet and this winter get my snapper fixed. I especially do not like that cub cadet can not handle taller grass patches, but I can hit that with my bushhog. I use the smaller mower to get between things in n my somewhat irregular orchard. Bush hog tears up grass is better suited for bush. But it will allow me to get control of it so the cadet can handle it.
I needed a narrow mower that would fit through a 38" wide gate. this style was my only choice. my property is about 1/3 acer total. ALL of it is a hill with overall height gain of 9ft over 100 ft. Grades vary from 1ft in 10 to 1 in 3. My lawn is uneven and I have lots of obstacles. While the machine wasn't designed for this kind of lawn, it does a respectable job as long as you don't let it go to 6-8" before cutting. .
It's April 2023. Time to get mowing in Fort Worth. I am having some issues with the riding mower not moving when I start up. It takes a couple minutes of moving the throttle pedal back and forward (still not moving) until it finally moves. Weird!
I bought my Cub Cadet in Feb.'24 and didn't use it at first, because I didn't wanna tare up my yard due to all the rain we had in the DFW this spring. Now in this heat it starts up, but it's not moving. I was thinking that Home Depot missed something at assembly. I'll try this throttle switch trick and crossing fingers that it works. After having owned a Craftsman and a Troy Bilt I do know I'll never buy a Cub Cadet again. Having to use my faithful push mower to mow 1/2 acre in this heat is teaching me a lesson I'll never forget.
@@JMMGarza The throttle switch trick didn't work on my Cub Cadet. Therefore I decided to stop by the Landmark Store out in Waxahachie and check with their service department. The service rep was very helpful. He mentioned the pin in the back of the mower and sure enough...that was my problem. I was out there mowing this evening and my yard looks pretty good.
Good review-I’m considering a riding mower-hip problems makes pushing a mower painful-but being I have a small yard with multiple obstacles-I was considering this exact mower-thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks for the demonstration. We have had this rider for 3 yrs and every year I forget how to start it. I watched you. I feel like I'm doing what you are but obviously I'm missing something. It's in park. The cutting deck is up. The pto is up. I'm in the seat. I depress the brake and turn the key and it doesn't start. What am I missing????
Cool! I just assembled my Columbia tractor, but too lazy to read the manual. So, to get some tips I go through TH-cam clips like yours for general operation instructions. Thanks!.
Dear Sir, I have heard so many bad things about these mower's such as there total junk they fall apart very cheap deck and on a on . I would appreciate you're true opinion . Thanks Dennis Browder
I've had it for two years. Nothing has broken. The battery needs to be jumped to start. Mows okay and fits neatly in between my cars in the garage. NOT A PROFESSIONAL MOWER! If you have a big yard. Get a bigger mower!

Thanks for that info. I will give it a try. I'd think, just moving the PTO would be a simpler one step process (super quick). Thanks again.
Mowing in reverse? Perfect?
I set mine up so you don't have to do that😃
Let me try this method on my newly bought cc30. Whenever I reversed without disengaging the blade, the engine stopped completely.
I have a hydrostat ... On a manual such as this one I don't think they make one that mows in reverse .. not sure
Thanks you answered my question about leaving it running to get off to pick up a stick

WhTs the turning radius? Better than tractor style mower?
I can make quite tight turns (6 feet) all the while scalping the lawn on my Cub Cadet.
I’m tall. Just about 6’6. Will I fit comfortably on this?
Probably not. You can always go to the store and sit in/on one.
