7:00 That clip that holds the joint between the cables is attached to the right place but it's on the wrong way round, it should be under the headlight bracket so the open side of it is pointing towards the headlight. I'm in the middle of opening a stuck bonnet on a Scirocco about the same age and that's how I found it. Having the open side pointing towards the outside of the bend in the cable should make the cables pull tighter into it when the bonnet's being released.
