I actually can't believe that "flippin' and dippin'" was only said once (and only kinda - 3:08) during the Ky set, even though my man was using Foudre Arc and Stun Dipper like a demon.

Once you start at the beginning it becomes more understandable, it still takes a lot of time to get from GG1 to Strive, but it's still understandable. Jack o' is hard to explain in this context because it lacks the stories of Justice and Valentine, once you know those, Jack o' as a "failed reincarnation" is much easier to understand

I've actually had a lot of success playing her like a grappler. Think Hisako from KI and use the minions for command grab setups. Just remember to eat some paint chips between rounds.
Man Max has to learn to use her grab super MUCH more often. I have seen SO many openings where he was just sitting on full meter and could have whipped it out for a win much sooner.

I wanna get this game just for I-NO man. And I suck at fighting games and I’ve never really found a character that “speaks to me” until I just saw her fight.
Ram was fun for me when I just started the game, but I think Jack-O is going to be fun for the remaining time I play the game. She seems like some combination of Venom and Dizzy her offense is crazy and her defense is below average. It feels like she can do anything she wants as long as you lab it out.
She's not like Dizzy, I've spent a lot of time with Dizzy. But Jack-O has some seriously sick potential in this game, if you lab the set ups and are good at playing in the chaos, I think she's got a lot of potential. However, I think a lot of the rush down characters may simply have it over her. Time will tell.
Ram is still fun imo, provided you aren't doing the basic combo route of S, HS, then throw her swords. You gotta use her other moves like Dauro or her rekkas to get some really fun stuff going. But I agree, Jack O looks like a wild character to play, you'll have to be sure to remember her moveset and the trajectory you can launch minions though lol
I just realised Jack-O's 5HS is an extremely good meaty! Used with a minion is pretty great, too. Good for keeping up pressure in the corner. I think you could be invincible on some parts of the move but I'm not really sure.
5hs can be delayed quite a bit in gatling and gives a meterless 50% combo byE summon minion slash minion attack 2x slash then wall break. The whole section after hitting the dropped minion with slash (that link is the hardest part) is super free form and can easily be changed / improved. Just know there's time to drop a minion and hit it into them with slash off of HS counter hit.
This video made it clear that they are playing two completely different games like jack-o is darksouls and ky is playing animal crossing, I think fighting games should do this way more often instead of changing the whole level of entry, I’m new to the whole fighting game scene ggs my first one been kinda addicted but I can see what the whole mind set when it comes to difficulty in fighting games
Her combo routes were kinda wack though. You really want to end midscreen combos with 236H for the hard knockdown. That’s how she loops her offensive pressure and sets up her mixup game as well as conditions people to block her shit, which is when she starts to get truly terrifying. Notice that Max got hit with the command grab often because he was respecting her pressure too much: if she were running her oki game properly he would be looped by her guessing game. Ino can also make you suffer for predictable DPs: this Ino baited them a couple times but didn’t capitalize. You really want that 2H starter off a DP punish for the big damage.

I feel like minion barrier is underutilized right now. I haven't seen many use it (yet) to stop people from destroying the minions, maintain pressure, ect. I feel like since it costs nothing to use that it is a key part of her kit that will hopefully be explored.
It seems to be worth stopping your Sprint to reposition your guy because trying to move him afterwards leaves you a lot of room to be desired just hit him with a kick during your run up or I think heavy sends them down if you want to reposition him a little lower to help with your mix-up as you come in maybe jump after hitting him jump cancel your hit.
I really do miss old jacks where you were would start up the aggressive with jacks to let the little guys grows and defend them till they can cover the offense for you

Yeah I've been playing her since she came out Friday for season pass and even now I'm still not that good with her. However even though I'm garbage with her I keep wanting to play more of her even though she requires a big brain but I'm just a simple chimp.

I don't know if it's just me but I kinda do hate how when you get hit all you servants go away. I can understand when the opponent hits the servant they go away but when I'm getting hit they disappear. It gets annoying because you summon them or different reasons but they are easy to get rid of and the meter sometimes makes it a problem as well. The servants do have their defense mode but it cost meter and you waste meter faster than you gain it. Maybe it's just me but that's just my problem with her core gameplay.

It’s as easy as ending combos with H stroke for the hard knockdown and disgusting oki vs. ending everything with HCL and having to get back in from full screen. And you really need to make people suffer for whiffed DPs, she gets insane damage off corner counterhit and this player was not capitalizing on those opportunities.

Ngl, it's kinda hard to have multiple minions on the screen since their commands use the meter as well. Feel like one minion is okay on it's own but multiple could be crazy.
You don't usually need more than one minion out when going for setups, but if you are in neutral having multiple out is really beneficial to her zoning.
@@rookbranwen8047 I agree. I find multiple are only necessary if you're going for controlling neatural without servant commands or have the bar to spend on attack rallies. It's just important to remember to recall the servants before they dissapear to get the bar back to summon more servants.
i got this game but i am to nervous to go online yet because I dont have a grasp of the characters. My old mains are either not even on here or feel so different. I definitely cant play someone like Jack-o though i love her style and design.
Nah man, ignore that nervousness. It catches me every now and then too but the best way to learn is to go online and get roughed up a little bit. The CPU's can only teach you so much. Just having a friend to play with casually can be helpful too, even if they stink they'll still give you a bit of insight in regard to human thought/unpredictability mid-game. Ranked nerves make sense, but once I realized I could just switch over to casual I got significantly better and more relaxed. This game is so good that I had a blast losing hard to a much higher level Chip as Potemkin 8 out of 10 times; I'm better for it now too. Good luck man, kick some ass

Jack-O has definitely been a struggle and needs lots of practice. Had rounds today pullin some decent stuff then others that went SO omg is my brain even working?! Tons of game steals (12) with wake up elysian driver. Kinda felt bad about it at first then remembered all the Ram wake up OD ko's, and May's, and..ya know what I don't feel bad anymore. It'll prolly take me a month to get comfy with here I think.
I-No main here but Jack-O has been...interesting to play. She requires so micromanaging to get decent with her. I'm still learning but yes, some matchups I get rekt to and just want to go back to playing I-No
It feels like Max isn't using Jack-O's strengths enough which is essentially calling minions and controlling space. Not sure why he wouldn't put down two minions instead of one before going in.
Probably just figuring it out ehile doing whats comfortable for now, based on the first video it didnt look like he labbed much before going online (i could be wrong though) and opted for just kinda figuring it out as he goes

You can buy her seperately, just like Goldlewis. Each character is about $6 or $7 individually, just have to wait for them to be released in your region
Leona with an orichi blood install would be cool. However, I feel the kof characters are more tame than guilty gear, so they would feel out of place. It would be a welcome addition though
a shame max gave up on jacko cause I liked the way she played and her animations are so good but I get it set up characters are certainly not for everyone and max is more of a rush down guy anyway

Organized by Alexander Gross, aka Octopimp, aka the English voice actor for Axl Low. Read on for my thoughts on why you'll enjoy watching this. Octo hosted an all-Goldlewis tournament a month ago, and it was an amazing thing to behold. It was won by Justin Wong. Max interviewed Justin literally immediately after his win to talk about MvC2. The awesome thing about this tournament was seeing a bunch of talented players have to figure out clever approaches on the fly on how to effectly use a brand-new, weird-playstyle character. There were no character counters; everything came down to tactics, adaptation, and execution. The timing was perfect because people had only begun to scratch the surface with Goldlewis, so everything was fresh and unpredictable. The tournament was extremely well-run and was enormously fun to watch. Now, he's doing another one of these. This time it's with a new, fresh lightly-tested character with this enormous variety of tactical options. It's going to be nuts seeing what people come up with with Jack-O on Jack-O. Again, this is my own unsolicited plug. I thought the previous tournament was a great thing for the GG scene and just an entrancing, fascinating thing to watch. This one will probably outdo that. Check it out.
I know some people are not just mashing buttons to win, but that I-No looks like someone who'd keep people from winning tournaments for the next 4 years.

I eventually reached this point after having the terrible idea of playing Jack-O secondary. I’m trying Anji instead now.

I do the same except I always RC for a combo, I noticed this I-no didn’t really use rc to keep combos going and would go for sweeps
He was holding his meter to use his super as a command grab up close. You can see he relies on big damage from the super often so he doesn't rc much.

i got this game but i am to nervous to go online yet because I dont have a grasp of the characters. My old mains are either not even on here or feel so different. I definitely cant play someone like Jack-o though i love her style and design.
Nah man, ignore that nervousness. It catches me every now and then too but the best way to learn is to go online and get roughed up a little bit. The CPU's can only teach you so much.
Just having a friend to play with casually can be helpful too, even if they stink they'll still give you a bit of insight in regard to human thought/unpredictability mid-game. Ranked nerves make sense, but once I realized I could just switch over to casual I got significantly better and more relaxed. This game is so good that I had a blast losing hard to a much higher level Chip as Potemkin 8 out of 10 times; I'm better for it now too.

Yeah, Jack O is hard to play but she is somewhat usable for some casual fun.
throwing things and aerials are super good. but if you play vs other mains or totsugeki users or sol/leo users, it's not even fun

Jack-O has definitely been a struggle and needs lots of practice. Had rounds today pullin some decent stuff then others that went SO omg is my brain even working?! Tons of game steals (12) with wake up elysian driver. Kinda felt bad about it at first then remembered all the Ram wake up OD ko's, and May's, and..ya know what I don't feel bad anymore. It'll prolly take me a month to get comfy with here I think.
Too bad the I-No wasn't better at punishing when Max whiffed his constant wake-up DP's. She would have wrecked him.
I love the way Max tends to fight the same person whether he wins or not… Ino is the best counter to Jack-o hands down

I-No main here but Jack-O has been...interesting to play. She requires so micromanaging to get decent with her. I'm still learning but yes, some matchups I get rekt to and just want to go back to playing I-No

It feels like Max isn't using Jack-O's strengths enough which is essentially calling minions and controlling space. Not sure why he wouldn't put down two minions instead of one before going in.
Probably just figuring it out ehile doing whats comfortable for now, based on the first video it didnt look like he labbed much before going online (i could be wrong though) and opted for just kinda figuring it out as he goes

I think Jack-O. Max did pretty well with Mr. Secretary so he seemed less annoyed. I think Jack-O is really fun, highly adaptable and going to take a metric funk ton of work! xD

You can buy her seperately, just like Goldlewis. Each character is about $6 or $7 individually, just have to wait for them to be released in your region

Leona with an orichi blood install would be cool. However, I feel the kof characters are more tame than guilty gear, so they would feel out of place. It would be a welcome addition though

a shame max gave up on jacko cause I liked the way she played and her animations are so good but I get it set up characters are certainly not for everyone and max is more of a rush down guy anyway

Disclaimer: this is my own personal, unrequested notification of something I think is awesome and relevant. *This Friday, Sept 3, 2021, 5 PST, all Jack-O tournament entitled "The Jack Off"*. Organized by Alexander Gross, aka Octopimp, aka the English voice actor for Axl Low. Read on for my thoughts on why you'll enjoy watching this.
Octo hosted an all-Goldlewis tournament a month ago, and it was an amazing thing to behold. It was won by Justin Wong. Max interviewed Justin literally immediately after his win to talk about MvC2. The awesome thing about this tournament was seeing a bunch of talented players have to figure out clever approaches on the fly on how to effectly use a brand-new, weird-playstyle character. There were no character counters; everything came down to tactics, adaptation, and execution. The timing was perfect because people had only begun to scratch the surface with Goldlewis, so everything was fresh and unpredictable. The tournament was extremely well-run and was enormously fun to watch.
Now, he's doing another one of these. This time it's with a new, fresh lightly-tested character with this enormous variety of tactical options. It's going to be nuts seeing what people come up with with Jack-O on Jack-O.
Again, this is my own unsolicited plug. I thought the previous tournament was a great thing for the GG scene and just an entrancing, fascinating thing to watch. This one will probably outdo that. Check it out.
I know some people are not just mashing buttons to win, but that I-No looks like someone who'd keep people from winning tournaments for the next 4 years.
